MMS should win the Oscar for "The Best Supporting Actress", for his stunningly accurate depiction of a servile, obsequious, spineless handmaiden to the Queen of India, the role of which is played by the Italian Madam Antonia Maino.
A.R. Rehman did win for slumdog for song "Jai Ho" in the category Best Song..so it cant be said that slumdog didnt go with Oscars in this category. O Saya lost but Jai ho won for Slumdog in the same category.
