this guy is a classical example of all style but no substance....he is nothing without dvds..he is pretty much a dvd director....kaakha kaakha - untouchables, varanam ayiram - forest gump, pachakili muthucharam - derailed etc.... he sthinks he is too good like simbu, thts the problem with these self proclaimed masters... jus because you have some english dialogues in ur movie, you cant be touted as a good director.. and why the hell this overdose of english dialogues...

Gautam menon's nadunisi naigal is a waste film. No thrilling. Veera's acting is like gautam menon. In all his films dialogues like ava flower madiri iruntha, ava mairu madiri iruntha, ava then madiri irunthanu jollu vedurarey. Pasanga avan kitta pesuna erinji viluvan. Note how many beautiful girls in each film. Please dont watch nadunisi naigal. Your money is waste. Sigappu rojakkal is the best. No one can even compare sigappu rojakkal with this waste, useless and funny nadunisi naigal movie.
Gautam Menon is without doubt a good film maker. Just because he makes a different genre, he doesn't become a bad film maker overnight. When he makes a classic like Kakka Kakka, there is no mention of Kerala, but after Nadunisi Naigal suddenly everyone has realized that he is a Malayali. Let me remind these smart alecs that even the great Kamalahasan is proud of his Kerala connection and calls himself the son of Kerala. So what nonsense are these armchair critics talking? Since I mentioned Kamal, let me add that his performance of a similar character in Sigappu Rojakkal is indeed without comparison. The scenes in which he seduces the sales girl played by Sridevi is masterclass and makes a horrifying tale almost romantic!!

I initally loved Gautham's movies...the romantic Minnale followed by the all time classic Kaakha kaakha...After that This guy seems to think he's d next big thing in kollywood and he can redefine Indian Cinema..... PochaiKilli was a carbon copy of Derailed and VV was a good movie Vaaranam Aayiram and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya are the most artifical movies ever seen...These movies surely make me puke in d theatre....But everyone are affected by this "emperors-new-clothes" syndrome....if any movie is getting released by Gautam Menon,Kamal Hasan,Mani ratnam or Selvaraghavan....They'll hail it as a master piece and will abuse anyone who disagree it tellin that they dont know abt Cinema.....
Dont think as a fan of Vijay,Perarasu stables....But I'm a lover of movies who'll criticise anyone who makes bad movies irrespective of their class....Be it my fav directors like Mani ratnam or Selvaraghavan or even Spielberg....

Right you are. The Menons- both Rajeev and Gautam- are good talkers, but very poor story-tellers. With their glib talk, they sell their films well!

hari you are absolutely right. Loosu pasanga pa ivanunga. Gautam menon is a mental. Psychiatric patient. If the movie is bad i will also criticize. I dont mind who the hell he his. But i appreciate good movies.
I think Gautam has made an effort, but thirty years after Sigappu Rojakal,or Balu Mahendra's Moodu Pani, both movies were the best pshyco based movies that has ever come in Tamil, its sad that Gautam has nowhere come near the two, both Sigappu r & Moodu Pani, had good acting great cast, and convincing performance, even after thirty years our current directors are yet to make good pshyco based movie, they keep aping hollywood ,like copying the brilliant Silence of the Lambs,I think Gautam has promise but the end product is not satisfactory ,in fact the only movie I felt he made well was Vinaithandi Varuvaya.the rest of his movies had great music maybe became hits but Gautam you need to learn a lot from our directors like Bharathi Raja,Balu Mahendra,Mahendran,Manirathnam & K.Balachander etc they were the people who revolutionised Tamil Cinema in the early late seventies & eighties with some fantastic movies

Bharathi rajava kokka. Gautam menon proved that he is still a batcha ( chotta ). Sigappu rojakkal, tic tic tic, moodu pani. What a classic. Gautam menon you cannot even get closer near these big giants. Get the hell out of tamil film industry.
Dont go with high expections based on his previous movies. It is just a ok movie with good technical aspects. Nice try without any background music, some of the close-up action shots were very good. Good job by the new hero "Veera," doesnt seems to be a new actor. The director, during the promotional activities said that "Sameera Reddy" has done an awesome job, worked hard for the fight scenes with dogs, he was afraid etc, but actually heroine didnt hav any fight scenes with dogs, it was just the dogs chase the heroine and pins her down. It is a movie with a message for child abuse.
2001 Minnale Directed by Gautam 2003 Kaaka Kaaka Directed by Gautam 2006 Vettaiyadu Villaiyadu Directed by Gautam 2007 Pachaikili Muthucharam Directed by Gautam 2008 Vaaranam Aayiram Directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon 2010 Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa Directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon 2011 Nadunisi Naaygal Directed by Gautam Vasudev Menon The name title shows the real colour from 2008 ..

They need to change that attitude. But don't worry. They are too good to not needing someone to push them. Don't forget ARR, Raja, Kamal, Sivaji etc.
The _best_ ought to come from within and _nothing_ compares and nothing from the neighbor state as well

True. Tamil people give no chance for tamilan pa. Thats why these mothafuckerz have started ruling tamil cinema. But these mallu guy gautam talks in malayalam at home. Even his P.A is mallu. He is cheating all our tamils pa. we should kick him out of tamil film industry. Bharathiraja is great.
