After listening to all the oscar nomination scores, I really felt rahman's score is unique and best. ofcourse i felt social network is good. but there is nothing special in the score. the main problem with 127 hours is that it only has very little background score. so I think due to that social network will win. i dont think hans zimmer music will win. its music is much lower to social network and 127 hrs.

just because indians feel that rahman' music is good will not help rahman win the oscar. only quality counts at oscars
Aron Ralston send our AR a note saying that "he could have spent another 127 hours trapped under that rock if he had Rahman's music around him" -- that itself speaks volumes...may Rahman win and bring glory to Indians and India again. All the best ARR!
Hans Zimmer will win the Oscar. Trent Reznor's score was weak and sounded like a remix of his Ghosts record. Reznor's main song on the soundtrack was a remix of the classical song - In the Hall of the Mountain King. Zimmer's composition was much more innovative, no remixes, and more sophisticated musical pieces. Also, Reznor is too unstable and egoistical to work with a wide variety of Directors and studios.
Reznor should win if they go in for something cutting edge. But the Academy voters may as well bleed from their ears than give the award to someone who knows the way to get them "closer to god". Plus, Social Network is losing steam in the last stretch. Tough on him.
As for Inception, the overwhelming fog horns that Zimmer threw at us can burst a vein in anyone's head. No room for any subtlety in it, except for the brilliant "Time" piece. I hope they don't give a consolation prize for this. Zimmer has done much better earlier. Not the best soundtrack of the year anyway.
Pity, Black Swan didn't make the cut. Clint Mansell was as subtle as Aronofsky was bombastic. This should have got a nod.
