As an indian fan of freida i feel completely disgusted by the kind of hatred she is getting from indian ppl and media there.All those indians who keep calling her avg looking or ugly just because she doesn't fit in to ur typical bollywood actress mould needs to understand that ms.pinto is considered as extremely gorgeous in the west because she corresponds to there beauty ideals.For example kareena and katrina who are beautiful enough in there own right would never be considered as attractive as freida in the west.

the irony is indians crave western gora chitta looks - like kareena, aishwarya. they call someone who look like one of them - frieda pinto - as a kaamwali bai. the bigger hypocrisy is these are the very indians who at the drop of a hat accuse others of being western sellouts.
only the western looks craze can explain the craze of 'fairness creams' now even among men.
frieda pinto has the average indian looks and people in the west admire her for it. and thats something to be proud of as she represents us in the real sense.

I recently visited India and I was surprised to see that Indians equate fairness to beauty. In India, a plain woman who is light skinned would be considered more beautiful than a darker woman with perfect jawline, full lips and beautiful eyes. It totally boggled my mind.
No wonder people go for harmful skin lightening creams that contain bleach in them.

She has worked hard to reach where she is now.Despite facing so many rejection in fair skin obseesed India she didn't lose her hope.Hating or making negative comments about freida is not gonna change the fact that she is a millionaire now.while all u crab mentality indians would never reach her level even if u try for million years

its nothing to do with skin colour man. its more to do with your overall look. there are lots of dark skinned looks who are gorgeous and fair skinned girls who look plain ugly. freida has cheapness and ghatiya looks written all over her face and what hard work are you talking about? by fluke she got the role in slumdog movie and it was just plain luck the movie became a hit and got oscars

Fluke ? Do you know how many girls tried to get that role but only she succeeded. And she has seen success even after that. Cheapness and ghatiya looks ? Wonder where you come from?
