Re: What a movie!

I agree it is a good movie. If I had gone in to see this without reading and listening to all this hyperbole associated with this movie, I would have enjoyed it more but going in to see after reading these astonishing reviews from the world over, it is a bit of a let down. Gary has performed well but it is no way can it be hailed as a masterpiece. Tomas debuted on the international stage with the awesome "Let the Right one in" but this was layered to be complex movie but is actually a simple enough plot trying to be more than it is.
i really like Raja Sen & like to read his reviews a lot since his language his amazing and that combined with with his ability to identify the rights and wrong bits of the movie is what is great 4!
BUT i went to this see this movie on the recommendation of this reviews 5 stars.
I am so sorry to say that it was so boring. the movie was so so so so slow!. it just kept going on and on and on. none of the charectors had any ooomph factor that would draw you into the movie. niether was the movies story as intriguing and interesting as it was potrayed to be. it never lived up to the 5 stars at all !

This is as close to a real life spying story as you can get. Weaned on yarns of James Bond--don't get me wrong, I love them too but for completely different reasons--few will appreciate a movie like TTSS, it is understandable.
Slow? Perhaps... but only when compared to the frenetically paced spy movies like the Bond series or the Bourne but for texture, layers of complexity in plot, sheer calibre of acting... there's nothing to beat TTSS. And oh yes, please read the book, first in the Karla triology.

really good movie , but if one has read Le Carre, then only then one can appreciate it . That s a pity. Each of the actors is cast perfectly and the screenplay is also derived in a capitol manner! And there is no need to bait Raja Sen. As far as I am concerned he has given good reviews.

He is fantastic as Sherlock and so is Martin Freeman as Dr Watson. Great series! Must must watch.

Not like that, Rakesh. This reviewer is no good, but this movie was just so good to not be praised.
