VERY MEMORABLE DEVANAND.
by sudhakar sk on Dec 05, 2011 05:13 PM

My experience with the Vetern Actor is something very very rare.

Whenever, I visited my friends place in 80's at Khiranagar, Santacruz,Mumbai, where he had his NavKetan International office;we would wait for his arrival to his office and have full glimpse.

I then ventrued to write him a letter in my pet and pen name, which most think it is of a "girl" and he to responded immediately. Thereafter we never looked back and I became important pen-pal of him.

I have a dozens of handwritten letters from him, inviting us for tea at his Sun-n-Sand suit as well giving us his un-listed telephone number. He also appreciated my "constructive criticism" of his movies and even edited some scenes post release!.

He was far above any one in the film-world of yester year.

One thing I dis-liked about him was when he was mis-lead and got himself embroiled with post emergency politics with Janata Dal and Jana Sangh(now BJP);which most of his fans too did not like.

Long Live Devanand!.
