Just like Malayalam cinema is experimenting with Hindi actors like Anuman Kher and Amitabh Bachchan, they should also give a try to cast Naseeruddin Shah in some serious character. Naseeruddin is the best actor that the country has ever produced. He is a delight to watch in intense performances. Check out the movie ‘A Wednesday’ if you haven’t already and the 80s movie ‘Sparsh’ where he plays a blind man. It feels as though Naseeruddin had lost his eyesight during the course of making the movie. He performed like a real blind man.

Exactly. Om Puri even acted as a hero in the Malayalam film 'Puravritham' by Lenin Rajendran i think. Nana Patekar may be the only exception.

please also do not forget "Kaalapani"- Mohanlal starrer where Amrish Puri played an unforgettable Jailor role.
Hope that the Malayalam movie will get a lease of life through such genuine efforts. It's high time malayalam movie makers should realize that such realistic and simple movies are the way ahead to reagin the lost pride. unrealistic Masala or action movies will only force well educated keralites away from theaters. Average Malayalee viewers are quite different in thinking than a Bollywood or Kollywood viewer.
