Journalistic Myopia!
by Krish Koundy on Apr 25, 2011 03:47 PM  | Hide replies

I fail to understand this journalistic myopia.
Mubarak Begum or any one in distress should be helped either by the government or by the civil society. But i feel fristrated to see media channels always picking up some one form a film industry to stoke compassion. Does singing a few songs as a areer professional make any one an icon? even if a person is some one like Lata Mangeshkar, who excelled in her career, should there be a special treatment in their old age? how is this vocatiuon different form any other vocaiton that deserves a special tratment. I'm sick of these the myopia of journaloists who attach undue inportance to evry dam thing related to bollywood!!!

Sad but not the only one!
by Adjana Waklot on Apr 24, 2011 07:45 PM

It is sad but she is not the only one in penury. Recently there was the same on A.K.Hangal, Shinde (sholay editor), Nalini Jaywant, Parveen Babi etc. The film industry should start being more professional and allocate a portion of the funds to start pensions and depending on their earnings about 5% should go to provident fund or some kind of pension funds...which should go once they cross a particular age.

NEVER SAY DIE
by VENURAJA Bowenpalle on Apr 22, 2011 01:38 PM

She should have said "never say die" and agreed to cut an album , even now , simply because even now she needs money. She seems to be in good health and can live much longer.

Remember, "All is well that ends well" , She should have agreed to help make an album of her songs and should have agreed to help those helping people because she can still sing well, her voice is still child like and vibrant.

She seems to suffer from depression, resigning to fate, praying to God and do nothing. Competition is in every field, and everyone sees ebb and flows in life. You must be able to come back.
She should work on to make an album now , instead of trying to get charity from public.
I wish her all the best.

Why do they dont realise ?
by Confused identity on Apr 22, 2011 12:52 PM  | Hide replies

Why do such people dont realise that they have to earn their livelihood by marketing themselves behind the scenes. You cannot expect the film industry to help each n every person. A spot boy who must be thr in shooting of Sholay cannot expect help from film stars. It is their fortune they did not work hard or did not save money for their retirement or old age. Even big stars do this mistake and end up in debts. Film Industry Needs a financial consultant.

you are communal in your views and thought. Be careful Manmohan is watching you.

The world is a rat race and there is nothing to feel that I am left out and there is politics, etc. Where there is a will there is a way.
Rediff stop publishing such silly coverage and raise the temper of the viewers.
