3D movies

Just go and buy a 3D polarized projection lens and mount it in front of projector, be Digital or Cine (film).
And the result you have 3d movie which then you can watch with 3d polarized glasses.
Any movie regardless of weather it is in colour or monochrome(black and white0 you will get the 3D effect.
The only other investment will be a silver screen(white screen is useless for 3d projection).
There are quite a few companies who manufacture clip on polarized 3D lens and glasses in a set of One lens and 12 glases.
I have two sets which i have been using on and off for lat 20 odd years.
Eye straining for long periods but the its 3D just to impress your friends.
Google 3d projection lenses and you will be able to pick one quite cheaply.
kit required.
3D clip on polarized lens.
3D polarized glases.(normal polarized sunglasses are not the one you require these are gray transparent glases with polarized lines at 90degree and 135 degree.)
A silver screen, (white screen is useless for 3D projection).
Good luck.

I watch many time sholey
by bharat ghanti on Apr 18, 2011 05:13 PM

I watch many time sholey but i am not interested to watch it in 3d, fool people only influenced through these things. i questioned how many people watch the new colour version of HUM DONO, Mughal E Azam, Naya Daur i like the black and white more than the colour version. because it spoil the naturality of the cinema. I would like to mention that we indian people dont have time for creating any thing we only look other for creativity and them theft and make it in indian style. I wonder if any of rediff reader watch the movie SCHINDLER'S LIST look the power of film maker that he shoot the movie in black and white to create the magic of 1940's or the older cinema in 1993. There is nothing great in colour cinema if you compare it to the subject or the indepth study of situation in the older cinema.

Creativity at its worst possible time
by bharat ghanti on Apr 18, 2011 05:05 PM

Creativity at its worst possible time, we have seen same plot stories in cinema and television many times, theft song tunes many time and now creativity goes its worst, as new talented people does not create new stories they only look back.

3d movies

Firstly making a 2d movie into 3d is not up to the standard, because it is not true 3D, it is polarized.
D is shot with two cameras simultaneously with red and blue filters.
True 3D is in monochrome and not colour.
Beside watching a 10mins 3d is very eye straining.
3hours of 3D with Polaroid glasses for 3 hours will be impossible.
in the beginning lot of cinema goers will flock to the cinema to watch 3d but novelty will not last for long.
3D has been around for nearly 80 odd years some movies has been mad partially in 3d but the phenomena did not last for more then few movies.
Only full length 3d movie ever made was a Russian one called THE LAST TRAIN in the 50s after that no full length movies were made just small clips in the movies.
IT VERY EYE STRAINING, IF IT WAS WATCH ABLE HOLLY WOOD WOULD HAVE CASHED ON 3D LONG BEFORE ANY ONE ELSE DID IT.
It not worth a re mastered polarized 3D.

Sheetal has expresssed some very good points here.

I just think cleaning up the pictures, removing artefacts like scratches, posssible re-colouring the original negatives but still keeping in line with the original film and remastering and cleaning the sound quality, would be ideal for those of us, who like the Bollywood of old, to be given a new lease of life. I don't think 3D is suitable for Indian audiences, maybe in other countries.

The American's have remastered many of the Walt Disney classics with Stereo sound and improved the picture and colour quality, and also many big Hollywood musical's have been remastered very well - South Pacific, The Sound of Music are just a few examples.
