A point to ponder.
by Prakash Mudholkar on Apr 05, 2011 04:41 PM  | Hide replies

Were the so-called beauties proud when we went nucle@r in 1998?

Do the cricketers really deserve so much money for winning a WC?

They keep getting rich while the fans do not get anything.

So much money could have gone into R&D which the country really needs to retain the talent from going abroad.

Sac Tend is not even a grad.

Will India ever become a developed country where money is wasted like IPL, T20, WC and brand advertising?

The west has become powerful by making inventions and discoveries and not pumping money to cricket.

Prakash,
Do you think the majority of our graduates (indeed PhDs) have put in as much effort into becoming as skilled as Sachin. Doctorates are awarded to arts as well as science. Batsmanship of the level Sachin has achieved is no less an achievement than those of our greatest artists such as Lata Mangeshkar, Bimsen Joshi, Hariprasad Chaurasia, AR Rahman etc. Just because no university offers a degree in cricket, Tendulkar's achievement cannot be trivialized. Let's remember that Michael Faraday had no degree and Einstein was a clerk in a patent office when he made discoveries that overturned the foundations of physics.

it's only natural to reward success, they deserve everything.developed countries have sports too heard of epl ,nfl etc? and funds follow success if there are enough good ideas for r&d private firms will fall over each other to fund it.stop acting holier than thou

Prakash ,
Govt prize given is one Crore each and normally this given to all player who has done achievement in there filed. According to you, since they don’t have school or university qualification they don't deserve it. Sport required skill and talent which we don't get in School or college. Sport men all over world get lots of money, why our should not get money? Govt get lots of money through tax they should utilised it properly , if they don’t do corruption we can be also be rich country lakh of crores of rupee are lying at Swiss bank.
Our all player have to work hard for there achievement. Your point has no logic and keeps our logic to you only.

Son - use your common sense - if you have.

The US never spent money before becoming a world power. Their economy is 14.2 trillion dollars.

Every Institute gets endowment in millions while the most prestigious gets 36 billion.

Ever read this? Never???

You stop becoming a ch@mcha.
