Shankar Nag is definitely one of the legendary director/actor Indian cinema has ever seen. He will be remembered for his work even after centuries. We miss you sir...
He should have been alive. If he were there, he would have place Kannada film industry at a completely different level of excellence. A rebel of a different kind, he chose to question every stupid cliche in Indian moviedom. Indian movie industry will never get another Sankar Nag...

shankar has nearly 8 good movies in his career, barring that all are junk movies...he must have done it when alive, this are all hard facts.
Every Single message until now has said good things....there is hope. does anyone remeber the name of the Movie in which Shankar plays some kind of tribal..he has a pony tail..almost all men in that movie do.thay have a fight in which they use swords which are long like a whip...Doordarshan had played that movie when we were kids.
His movies are master pieces! Accident, what a movie. Thrilling! and Seetha Ramu, only Shankar anna can vision such a difficult and futuristic story in 90s!
If shankaranna wasalive today, Manirathnam, shankar(tamil), puri jagannath, ram gopal varma, etc.. all would've been dubbing movies from Shankar nag's originals. Long live the legend in our hearts.

Shankranna neevu namellara manadalli chirakala iruviri. Hats off to you.
Normally a movie/serial based on a famous novel could never match the original. I find Malgudi Days is the only exception to this rule. That is purely because of the brilliant direction of Shankar Nag. I've always wondered why he didn't directed more serial/films...didn't knew about his untimely death...definitely a colossal loss...may his soul rest in peace.
