Not every Punjabi who arrives in the West on a trawler or container can speak or read English. Same goes for illegal immigrants from the non-english speaking world. No offence to anyone here, but it is the truth.

Not comprehending english doesn't make you an-padh!! At best, it makes you an idiot for not understanding that..

There are an-padhs everywhere. Doesn't necessarily have to be a Punjabi. Plenty of angootha chaaps all over India. Besides, English isn't our first language but it helps to read/write the same when we're in the land of The Angrez. From all the Europeans(non British) I've met so far, none of them were fluent in English barring one and they each one had his/her own native accent. Its good that the menu is in Punjabi.

All r missing the point, think about the restaurant going people, they are all mostly working class or business who earn good money, they are all educated. the use of native lang is to bring ethnic touch and taking pride in one's culture.

Dixon is a farming community with a majority of punjabis. There are a lot of ladies who cannot read English there.

Mr Mani Shankar, ya i know it sounds very costly however we do get USD 40 Dollar per hour for standard 7.5 hours and top of that we get over time which will usally would 1.5 times of your normal working hour. So please do not try to compare the rates. I wonder in which city you are leaving might be C grade city and no wonder why you are getting SAMOSA at such cheap rate. One more thing, i think we both know quality of Samosa made in India and US. We can’t deliver one second class CWG properly why you really want to compare other things. Go and have some good sleep...

You know i can find regular job, but do you dude at the end of day what matters, how much you have made. I was never unemployed in past 6 years not for single day. I wish i could have proved you but i don't this that's necessary since i don't give dam what you think about me or my job profile and you can't say anything because you know i am right. BTW I am not married; I don’t have any mortgage why should I care about profile. If an opportunity is there for 500 USD/day for 6 months why should I care about job profile?

Great Mr. Patul. Nice to know you get so much money in hand. Thanks for sharing. BTW, samosa for $3 is a standard but costly affair in all indian restaurants. Not to mention Naan for $1.5, Masala Dosa $7-8... Indian restaurants serve junk indian food here in BayArea too. Patil saab.. great to see you visit outside work sites too with your "costly" work schedule ! Do you have any idea what these wallstreet folks were getting ?

Then you earn 10 times less then what they earn in USA and UK. And prices are also 10 times higher in UK and USA compared to India. Price and earning wise both cost same.
