Ilaiyaraja is the god of music. The only musician whose songs will penetrate your mind and touch your soul. Long live the legend. Btw, can smeone help me from where I can download Naanum oru Thozhilai songs.
Though i am from Orissa, I like very much of Illaya Raja compared to ARR. The music scored by Raja is incomparable with any of Indian musicians. He is legend. Just listen the music of KERKAT KANNAN. You can feel like anything.

funny...he was at his peak. He would have many movies to compose for. Obviously he must have had a very tight schedule, which means anybody has to wait...please think logically...4emb7

ARR's recent works are all disappointing including the commonwealth games song for which he received a whopping amount of rupees 5 crores. ARR's compositions are just instant hits. You hear and then you forget. But Ilayaraja's songs during 80s-90s are still fresh in the minds of music lovers.
ILAIYARAAJA MUSIC CONVEYS ALL POSSIBLE HUMAN EMOTIONS......FEELINGS......START FEELING THEM....WE REALISE A BILLION LIVES ARE NOT ENOUGH TO EMOTE ALL HIS MUSIC......satish,r.
Ilayaraja does not want to enter Bollywood because he dont want to fight with R.D.Burman Who he likes and ilayaraja is diehard fan of S.D.Burman.This is my assumption. Anyway KB,MR,BR were packing up. Come on Raja give one more hit. i think his best ever work is "GURU" malayalam . thiagarajan

RD Burman is no match for Ilayaraja...with majority of his works inspired from others music like AR Rahman.
The only composers who are comparable with Ilayaraja are G.Ramanathan and Naushad Ali...

Also for Thyagarajan...80's music in Hindi Film industry was ruled by Laksmikanth Pyarelal and Jatin Lalit..
RD Burman was not there, he was finished by mid 80's made his comeback in his final movie 1942- Love Story.
