Hi, how can u include Amitabh in the above list yaar.. Agree with you on all other choices but definitely not Amitabh.. He was very stereotyped and hardly could emote.... Better Luck and Better Taste next time buddy....

The whole list is worthless, bro. Cause India's best actors are it's politicians. Open the list with the Italian Import plus her loyalist, with sterling mention of comedy performances (Lalu, Mullayam & co), melodrama (Mamta, Shabana & co), interspersed with path-breaking dialogue (Mayawati, Karunanidhi & co), patriotic song-writing (Javed Akhtar, Digvijay Singh & co) etc etc. The list is endless & you'll find that you don't have to resort to bollywood at all.
National awards are not fixed(Exception Saif Ali Khan for Hum Tum) - I would say any day - Paa was not a special film - i like abhishek and Vidya more than amitabh- But when u have a character which is so unique (Similar to rani's Black) Your acting gets noticed and hence Amitabh got the award - however anyday Mammooty must have acted much better in this movie (I havent seen it)

Don't get into regionalism while appreciating art. Naveen is right about Saif and Amitabh. Anyone with little cinematic sense will say that Naseer, Om Puri, Mithun, Kamal Hassan, Ajay Devgan's are any day better actors than Amitabh, Rajesh Khanna, Shah Rukh and Saif's. Likewise Adoor Gopalkrishnan, Shaji Karun, gautam Ghose, Shyam Benegal are any day better than Prakash Mehra, David Dhawan and Ram Gopal Verma.
Now we need to add new parameter like by, one's date adjustment and as well as on in how much money he charged for the film. When we all grow up and respect the others achivement.
big b got the award becauseof fixing he entered into the flim industry with the help of late padmaja naidu & late indira gandhi got movies he used many ladies to get popular from parveen babi, rekha then walked away he even ditched rani to get popular with ash so these awards are fake things so do not worry mamooty ur acting skills are liekd by one & all all the best

Angadi Theru Should have been won best movie award but the panel has ignored it because of biasing.

Amitabh Bachchan has aways been a manipulator and played politics & groupism in Bollywood, like what SRK is doing now. Anyone with little cinematic sense can make out that Amitabh never deserved national best actor award. Commercial success is one thing and good acting in a critical & difficult role is quite another. Why is Mr. Abdul Hamid surprised? Pamela Sharma is absolutely right about Amiatabh. Judge things rationally and not because you are a fan of someone's "Dhisoom Dhisoom" brand of acting.
