he gave good music to in hindi is Lagaan. I have not any melodious tunes from him any of the other films. Its just loud music with someone shrieking(including himself many a times). God only knows as to what the oscar juries heard in Slum Dog.

can u list out some good songs of his ? Just because you find it fantastic,it certainly does not mean that I should find it fantastic too....Just compare his songs with any of the melodies of 70s or 60s...he is pathetic. I have been hearing to hindi songs of all the decades...Rehman is pathetic when it comes to composition. I think you are the most ignorant one, as I think you might not have heard songs by other composers of 60s & 70s. He cannot match SD,RD,KJ & AJ,LKP...He is no where in this leagud.

also...when people mention old maestros as infallible...tht is because only their better and popular songs have survided so far...they must have done avg work in their life which nobody listens to now...

ever heard Kanattil Mutghamittal, Roja, Indian, The Legend of Bhagat Singh, RDB, D-6 among others...?... He is teh one who save Bollywood from the cluthces of Nadim Shravan & Jatin Lalit who doled out trash in the name of "melody"...not 2 mention Pritam's daddy ANu Malik
stupid song!! utto utto..... bhaago bhagoo... it would have been better. dont know how much he demanded for this song. i did made a comment it was not the right person to be awarded to make the music,,but then there were other opinions. now i feel vindicated of my stand. let him remix the song now!! after all every thing is there in his computer ...just cut and paste!
