@ Deepak Raje: Why were you not selected? Because not even you friends appreciate you .... talent....then how can CWG :)

ARR is internationally famous and many American music stars selected him to work with them for his talent...

@ ramen das: Wakka Wakka is liked by teenagers and kids...

--------
"Waka Waka" is based upon a traditional African soldiers' song named Zangalewa, a 1986 makossa hit for Cameroonian group Golden Sounds. Shakira borrowed the song's chorus without the permission of the band, and after legal intervention by the band, an undisclosed deal was struck with Sony Music.

Let us bycot each and every thing of CWG. When 800 millions hardly get two times food, shelter, cloths, health, education why are we doing this TMASHA.India is well known for the things mentioned and OUR CORRUPT CWG WILL SPOIL IT FURTHER.LET US NOT BE EMOTIONLA IN THE NAME OF COUNTRY AND PERMITTING AND APPREACITING THE PEOPLE.Enough is enough now. Let us work on basic issues. MAOISTS AND NAXALISTS ARE READY TO ENGULF ENTIRE COUNTRY IF WE WAN'T IMPROVE.

@Sudhir Dave: Dear Sudhir.... saying 100 times there are poor people does'nt solve problem...CWG has helped many people ...who worked in various stages.... think also the ve side.

I don't favor much people complaining that we are poor...are they doing something to get out of poverty.... I agree some rich are utilizing people and they don't want others to evolve...

Theme song
by rocky on Sep 06, 2010 10:59 AM

the song is good. its more than enough for the CWG... given that its only for a couple of weeks. also the games is marred with corruption allegations and everyone seem to be expecting only the song to be world class. anyway the song is world class.

good one
by richard richard on Sep 06, 2010 10:52 AM  | Hide replies

ihave no problems with people not liking the song but yeah there are problems when people start making personal accusations and start behaving like experts. This song is a call to all athletes and not a dance number like waka waka or ricky martin.... those songs are made to play in discos, remixes etc.... to criticise this song we also need to know wat was brief given to ar rahman before composing. If he was asked to make a dance number or something like this.In anycase, before the song was released ar rahman said in his press conference that he had presented 3 songs and this was the one that was selected by the core commitee.so why blame Ar Rahman alone?also the problem is in india,if the songs like this, peopel say "oh its not liek waka waka and if the songs like waka waka then they say its not a true representation of India and its more like a western number!!! so where does one draw a line to criticisim????never ending really!

Come to think about it,we are not much different from politicians or anyone out there blaming each other. Its time that we forget all these difference and show our faith in nation trying to showcase one of the major events. Lets support the event and make it a success?? And not make a mockery of ourselves??
Its our last chance.

the problem with rehman is the same with this generation - over hype , he is a good sound engineer thats all , dont mention his name along with other starlwarts like rdburman , sd burman , msv, ilayaraja, salilda, the proof of this argument is found in all the reality shows were contestants stil sing only the olden goldies which had soul and melody , the latest enthiran offering of rehman is an affront to the ears of sane music lover, his patch work kind of work sticks out like a sore thumb and there is no continuity in the melody to stick in your minds... the rehamaniacs argue that u have to listen to his songs atleast 20 times repeatedly to like it , what a baffling shallow argument!!! totally unmusical, this CWG song is another sham like the games itself a corruption of musical sense
