Bollywood is full of anti Indian personalities..the Mahesh Bhatt camp of Emran Hashmi is one...These morons will defend Islamic terrorists and give them immunity of 'victimization' whereas attack liberal western societies...these movies do not have India's best interests at heart. Remember this guy Emran & his Hindu hating uncle Mahesh cried hoarse about being refused rent.

voice as a filmmaker...
by bkrishna_009@rediffmail.com on Oct 15, 2010 07:43 AM

So, what voice u have raised as a film-maker, Director?created some non-sense masala hype by blowing up things? and how well u portrayed women? voice is to put in a constructive way, so that relationships can be improved. its very sensitive issue for australian-indian community, mate!!. with these kind of second-class-masaala, you only have selfish-motive to make money. hope, God bless you with a massive-flop.

My experience in Melbourne so far
by imran patel on Oct 15, 2010 05:12 AM  | Hide replies

I am in Melbourne for the past few weeks...Here are some of my observations,
- People are more polite than what I have experienced in Mumbai/Delhi/NY/Chicago
- Found MANY Indians who are overstaying their visas
- Found many Indian Taxi drivers who are driving under someone else's name
- People do enjoy their beer. But did not see anyone acting in a un-civilized manner
- Interacted with Taxi drivers and asked them if they were harrassed. Everyone had the same response that it was the media that blew it out of proportion.

I think the media and the consumers of media information need to be more responsible.

And some introspection is much needed. Are we not racists as well ?

What are "white men" portrayed as in Hindi movies ?

Lets gets real guys.
A majority of people in India would trade places with Melbourne at the blink of an eye.

spot-on mate!!!. media only wants publicity, they don't care about anything else. but wahtever happened, somehow benefited indian-community as now australian govt sees as a major force, otherwsie these incidents will go un-noticed. with rest of your comment, arrogant Indian-taxi drivers cheat Indians, they cheated me twice and dared me to go n complain...they behave like auto-drivers in india. hope they should definitely get bashed!!!

In my movie
by Moderate Voice on Oct 14, 2010 11:21 PM  | Hide replies

In my dream movie, the bad guy is a Khan as is generally the case. He is ably aided by a Verma and a Gupta.
The innocent guy is a simple Brahmin. The heros are a Menon from Kerala, a Barua from Assam, a Senthilvelan from Tuticorin, a Jain Shah from Vadodhara, a More from Maharashtra and a Toiba Singh from Meghalaya.

The actress of my movie is a veil wearing begum in love with Mr. Menon.

Does this hurt your sentiment?

What's the fuss
by Akhil Verma on Oct 14, 2010 06:31 PM  | Hide replies

Why we debating how to show Aussies in a hindi movie... In Hollywood movies how many times we've seen Indians being shown as cab drivers, low income, stupid, IT Geeks etc.. we get stereotyped in most of their movies and havent seen any articles about it in Indian press... Seriously : Rediff (and all other desi medias) please grow up and get real

Yes indeed, what's the fuss? Aussises truly are what they're shown to be - crooks. Their origins are well known i.e entire unwanted convict community from US & Europe was forcefully ex-communicated & settled in Australia with Aboriginies.

Remember padosan where the quirky guy is Tamilian and Tiranga where the bad Scientist was a Tamilian by the name of Rangaswamy?

I think Indians should stop going to Australia period. We are unwelcome there so why do we go there to get beaten and shamed.

Itis pure $hit. Just some lame excuse of a movie from Bhatt camp. Trying to make a fast buck showing some semi-porn. Or else some clever ploy from Mahesh Bhatt to revive this turkey- by means of some controversy.
