Lennon's words in his song "Imagine" can come true, only and if only U.S changes it's foreign policy and stops behaving as the guardian of the world.. John Lenon was deported from the States for his anti-war remarks against the US during the Vietnam War...

Lennon was NOT just against US political and military pressures on others, he was equally, though NOT vocal, apprehensive of radical religious ideologies and dogmas, which has to be (most of) the Islamic world today.
Lennon was undoubtedly better (and perhaps the undeclared band leader) before Revolver (1966)and Sgt. Pepper's album (1967) - where Macca called the cards for these two albums, which coincided with the peak of Beatles' popularity. However, Lennon and Macca were equally good on the White album (1968).
To know more about Lennon please check them out on net; many of them were more pop than rock: God, Jealous guy, Working class hero, Gimme some truth, Hold on, Mind games, Instant karma, Imagine, Nobody told me, Woman, How do you sleep (take on fellow Beatle Paul McCartney in response to his take on Lennon)..
Lenon,Beatles most talented guy did an excellnet job when he was alive but after his death he is still relevant today b'se his songs still have a great value in today's war torn world.
