I do not understand as to why Aishwarya was not sent to the U.S to promote this expensive entertaining movie on popular american talk shows so that the movie would be watched by people other than Indians- I mean this is a movie that is just as good as a hit Hollywood action packed movie- I went to see it here in Canada and only Indians at the cinema- what a pity- to spend all that money and not try to showcase it to others to show what we are capable of.
THE WORD "SUPERSTAR" MEANS "RAJINIKANTH"..........
IN THIS WORLD HUMAN KIND KNOWS CERTAIN THINGS.. ONE SUN... ONE MOON... ONE EARTH ... ONE SUPERSTAR... RAJNIKANTH... IN THIS VAST MILKY WAY GALAXY......
Rajinikanth-starrer Endhiran has netted a collection of Rs 117 crore, surpassing the first-week collection of Bollywood's highest first-week grosser, Dabangg (Rs 82 crore).
Distributor and trade analyst Suniel Wadhwa said, "The film's net collection is Rs 60 crore in Tamil Nadu, Rs 30 crore in Andhra Pradesh, Rs 8 crore in Karnataka and Rs 4 crore in Kerala. The Hindi version (Robot) has managed to collect Rs 15 crore. As the numbers suggest, the film has already crossed Dabangg's two weeks' net collection in just the first week of its release.''
The film's report in the Hindi belt too is quite good. Distributor Sunil Bohra said, " "The collection of the film in places like Jodhpur, Ghaziabad and Meerut is also impressive. The film is doing well both in single screens as well as at multiplexes.''
Sources insist that though it is too early to speculate, the film has definitely grossed Rs 260 crore which is more than the entire collection of Aamir Khan starrer Ghajini.
The Hindi version of the film too has done a business of nearly Rs 30 crore in the first week. Amod Mehra said, "Robot has broken all the records of a dubbed film. I don't remember any similar film crossing even the Rs 1 crore mark. In fact, Rajinikant's last release Sivaji was a disaster at the box office."

LOL 60 percent of that collection came from Tamil Nadu where there is Zero Percent tax so net collection 60% is 100% there. While Dabang grossed 80 crores NET collection meaning add taxes and it goes beyond your 117 crores isnt it?

Crook opened to a below average response of 35-40%. A few centres in Punjab were good but overall the film could not make a mark at multiplexes or single screens. Saturday and Sunday business will decide its fate.
The other releases Bachao and Lava Kusa were very dull with 1-3% openings and have little chance at the box office.
Anjaana Anjaani had a decent first week of 32.50 crore nett but collections on weekdays were not good. The film will make good money for makers due to big prices fetched from satellite and music but theatrically it will be a Above Average/Semi Hit fare with around 23-24 crore distributor share.
Khichdi grossed around 3.25 crore nett in its first week but business was mainly from the Gujarat belt where the film is a hit and performed even better than the much bigger films Anjaana Anjaani and Robot.
Robot could not make much impact with around 10.50 crore nett business in week one. The film did a bit better at select single screens in Maharashtra but overall is poor especially in the the Delhi/Punjab area.
Dabangg added around 6 crore nett approx in week four taking its four week total close to 140 crore nett. ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER ==================================== So its clear Robot Hindi has flopped not just in India but all over the World, only Tamils rushing to watch the Tamil version, reports from Andhra is that tickets are easily available for the Telgu dubbed ver.

why do people like you think only Hindi movies are Indian movies? Huhh? Why does the website call itself boxofficeindia . com when they have only Hindi movies and they show collections of only northern states.

MUMBAI: Rajinikanth-starrer Endhiran has netted a collection of Rs 117 crore, surpassing the first-week collection of Bollywood's highest first-week grosser, Dabangg (Rs 82 crore).
Incidentally, the entertainment tax structure and ticket-pricing formula are not uniform in India. "Ticket prices in south India are much lower as compared to other states in the country. This is the reason why box-office collection in the south pales as against the collection in northern states. Despite all this, the film's BO collections prove the film has done remarkably well,'' Wadhwa said.
Moreover, considering the fact that an additional 7% had to be paid as as entertainment tax to the government for being a dubbed movie, the collections are even more significant, an expert said.
According to Wadhwa, the contribution of director Shankar too needs to be factored in . "Shankar is one director who has more brand value than Rajinikanth in AP. His films with Arjun, Prabhudeva and Vikram did wonders in the past.

you seem to be ignorant of many facts here inspite of so many people explaining.
Robot is a hindi dubbed version, of endhiran. Its the highest grossing dubbed movie.
Imagine dabaang being dubbed and released in tamil, telegu it wouldnt even have have run for one week.
whatever robot earns is a bonus coz its main profits comes from its original version and it has already made 107 crores in its 1st week crossing dabaang's collection of 83 crores.
hope this info helps you. If u want u can check various box office reports. In USA, its in 12 position and again highest grosser same in uk. I am talking abt endhiran, the tamil version original one.
Reason y SRK lost ROBO. Talks with SHANKAR was fine. when it reached Special effects. SRK ask Shankar to give the Special effects rights to RED chilles company to earn Rs.70 Crores on his company name with BAKWAS tech work .
But Shankar said he will use guys from Matrix,MIB , Iron man etc., from USA and Hongkong studio with will cost 80 Crores.
Result SRK demanded again n again. Instead of keeping faith on SRK, then thought of Aamir and he doesn't have dates becoz of 3 IDIOTS commitment and suggested the VILLAIN ROBO to be played by same as HERO. Shankar changed the Script and he thought instead of waiting for Aamir, he (Shankar) got the SIVAJI collection results after 2 months. then he realized that he can recover his Rs. 180 Crore plus with RAJNI and started with him.
Result is history now.
youtube dot c om/ watch ? v=ZTiZWQvLN5k
The video tells that SRK having nightmares with ROBO success and he already have 3 competitors Aamir,Akshay,Salman. now a new competitor is RAJNI.
