Its waste to read rediff rankings cuz they only give bollywood/hindi movies ranking. Why dont you include south cinema, bengali cinema, marathi, bihari etc etc?

there is not south cinema..there are tamil, telugu, malayalam, kannada cinema
And the best music directors and directors who understand music are invariably from tamil industry

He had a great taste in Music allright, but cant remember any film for which he has given the music himself.

Vishal Bhardwaj, it is....

Being Hardcore fan of old music, my heart would flutter for Hemant da, Salil sa'ab and ofcourse Kishore da. But they are great musicians but didn't leave a mark in film direction. This is where, Vishal scores. Maachis still haunts and so does Omkara.
