late shri Viswanathan
by kongo rudy on Nov 19, 2010 10:35 AM

I don't know him, but reading the comments below I can tell that the respect one carries is not by his looks but by his deeds. As good men say, a king dies he becomes ash... a saint dies, he becomes a statue... a noble man dies he becomes a star that lives for eternity....
Let the soul of the great man rest in peace

He was the only Tamil.....
by Superman on Nov 18, 2010 10:57 PM

.....who told me, "don't you know Bengali?" He was my Professor and had excellent command both in English and Bengali. An old school teacher who used to teach telling about his lot of experiences......His classes were such a fun.....

His acting style was method acting but when he used to speak English, it seemed that he was very proud of being told that he had a British accent. It was very different from normal people speaking English.

by Mukesh Hamirwasia on Nov 18, 2010 12:52 PM  | Hide replies

I remember prof. N.Vishwanathan from the days he teached us English In St Xaviers College. A pucca Englishman known for his good oratory skills and English accent, he was an excellent individual who will make the classes very interesting & lively quoting his real life experiences. He is well remembered for his association with Utpal Dutt & also the theatre which he loved. Despite coming from south, he married a Bengali being a love marriage.
I wish his soul rests in peace. HATS Off to you Professor

Now the Late Prof N.Vishy was a legend in himself. He has achieved everything as an actor both in films as well as Dramas. His role in the theatre "Nagpash" which made records galore will be remembered by all. His role with the greats like Late S.Ganeshan,Vijayakanth in Tamil and In Bengali with the greats like Pahari Sanyal,Utpal Dutt,Chobi Biswas etc. were mind blowing. Also he was a person with great personality. Prof N.Vishwanathan being a south indian made a name for himself in the Bengali filmdom & theatres which speaks volumes for himself. He was a true legend. May his soul rest in peace.
