I don't exactly remember when this idea of doing this film struck me. I was watching an Iranian or Italian or Korean movie and the idea of copying the film blossomed in me and I told this to Bhavani and we decided to pirate it without telling anyone and thats how it started.

hmmmm I could not help laughing at Bhansali’s statement “I don't exactly remember when this idea of doing this film struck me. I was just scribbling down notes and suddenly it just struck me.” Rather he could have said when he was watching the classic “Whose life is it anyway”. His earlier movie “Khamoshi” was lifted bit to bit from “Love doesn’t know silence”. There is nothing wrong in getting INSPIRED from Hollywood movies and showcasing them in Hindi for Indian viewers. But don’t go around tomtomming that this is your original idea and please don’t assume that people are fools and that nobody else watches English movies.
