I think mallu movies are the best in terms of story and screenplay in whole of India. They did not lose out because other language movies get released in Kerala. I think by following protectionism, Karnataka film industry is losing and only people who are benefitting are producers and producer families you know whom I am talking about.

First of all, correct yourself. Robot was released in more than 60 theatres all over KA inspite of restrictions. Still distributors did not get any any profit or infact they have undegone loss. If this is the case of movie of RajaniKant who is born & brought up in Karnataka, then you can think of movies of other stars. Bottom line is Kannadigas are not crazy about movies and even majority of Kannadigas do not see other langugae movies. Whether you release in less or more does not matter.

MR true tamlian? yeah somewhat correct showing Tamilian famous disunity culture openly for supporting Mallu.
Let us be objective. I dont think Kannada film industry is going to grow by restricting other language movies. As a result of the ban, most of the Kannada commercial movies are remakes of other language movies.
In Kerala which has smaller population that Karnataka, they are allowing release of Sivaji and Robot in 100 theaters. Keralites watch both mallu movies and other language movies. They cannot spend extravagantly so they do see other language movies to get a feel of that.

You are absolutely right. How could one watch movies of such heroes?
Surprising thing is in Tollywood, they make super big budget movies with so called good looking heroes like Ram charan tej, Allu arjun, Jr Ntr, Pawan kalyan. And you know what ppl watch it.
Trust me, its not the rickshawallahs who watch those movies. Its the real so called high class who watch them and take pride in it. After all, they are normal entertainment movies made with a big budget. Going to movies is high on the priority list of a Teluguite and hence you see big budget movies in Tollywood. Nothing wrong. Its catering to families of many technicians.
Every movie industry has to cater to rickwallahs. Kollywood makes such movies too, but at the same time it makes some creatively brilliant movies. Same is K'taka and Kerala. But at a much lesser scale, because of its cosmopolitan population.
Movies aren't a measure of a state's capabilities. Compare economy, lifestyle, cleanliness, civic sense, traffic sense, adaptability and such parameters.
Kids of your age should get involved in nation building, rather than getting involved in mudslinging and nation breaking. All the best.

Because the director Indrajit Lankesh is their blue eyed boy! He always give them some masala news to fill up their Bangalore Times.
They are just giving it back by promoting his movie!
