its a pity that rediff is promoting such stuff. Touch wood my child isnt addicted to cartoons and wishes to play with her friends or would read some comics. I would have appreciated if rediff gave some fun activities for kids than encouraging tehm become dumb a$$es
We lament against different addictions, which inevitably drive the life of the addicted, down-spiral. Who are most neglected, are our kids glued to televisions viewing cartoons. 'Idiot Box' lives truly up to its name. It is high time that the life of our kids is diverted to meaningful pastime which will create value addition to face stiff challenges in future.
Our childhood had far more entertaining and educating stuff...cartoons wise we saw Guchche, Sindbad Jahajee, Duck Tales, Talespin, Cartoon Network aired good ones like Captain Planet, Bugs Bunny, Road Runner, Scooby Doo, TinTin etc.. There were shows like Neenv, Campus, Captain Vyom, Giant Robot etc which were very entertaining. Educative ones like Bharat ek Khoj and Surabhee which parents encouraged us to watch.. now its mostly ugly japanese/Korean manga characters with same plots and reality shows on most entertainment channels... How will the child grow up well???
Each and every kids show has a lotta agression being shown. tom and jerry is filled with gags. every show comes with a huge range of crappy merchandise that isnt worth rupees 15..let alone 150. Ben 10 and Hanna montana are the worst offenders.
My kids are also watching Bigg Boss, MTV Roadies, Spiltsvillae and now my kids says he wants to Bigg Boss house and milk Dolly Bindra, he also wants to go spiltsvillae and make some girlfriends there
