These days the trend of promoting movies is amount(absolute) of business generated by a movie and people start comparing movies of different era without discounting for the inflation/ticket rates/methodologies(advanced accounting these days). E.g. no doubt 3 Idiots was a gem of a movie but guys give me a break it is the hightest grosser ever only on absolute terms if u factor in inflation and other factors Sholay has appx earned 1500 crores(nett) plus and the second most successful movie is bollywood is MKS(Muquadar ka sikander) with 700 crores (net) plus. And the only Platinum Jubilee Indian movie.

the adjusted figure for sholay is 162 crores ok, moreover Hum aapke hai kaun adjusted fig is 309 crores, and there r 4-5 movies who r ahead than sholay after adjustment. when sholay realeased there were less no of cinema hall, tht y movie use to run for longer duration, and now toa u know wht is the case. if u r talking abt everything calculate every single factor.

you need to see a doctor very quickly my son, HAHK was a blockbuster agreed but bollywood has seen many blockbusters before. And by the way Sholay is a box office Benchmark just like Amitabh Bachchan is benchmark for any actor

I really have doubts as to Sholay being the biggest grosser ever. Don't know the figures but can't help agreeing with Saahil. There is way too much competition today Ruchika. I would still say it much more difficult than then. Ruchika, don't get personal!

u both seem to be kids who are totally oblivious of history. If you doubt Sholay's box office prowess then it shows ur limited knowledge of indian box office both of you might be south indians/dumb kids
u stupid kapil siddhu sukcer of shahrukh this movie definitely rocking at box office audience must enjoy with this movie in this movie full exposing of katrina and rocking akshay and salman
