True.The serial novel in tamil "my dear endhira" was published in Dinamani kadir, during the seventies with the same story written by "Sujatha" ,whose real name was Rangarajan and who was serving as a computer engineer in BHEL.

The movie by Shankar has become very popular and got enough money and praise from people all around the world. Now here is someone who want to encash something out of that. He says someone has stolen his story and published in 1995. This guy should have filed a case against them in 1995 and not crib now. Each fellow wanted to get cheap publicity. By the way, if a product is not registered as trade mark, even if it is brand it will not stand in the court of law. And this man calls his story of 1990s were adopted, well, after 20 years. He is just crazy.

You have got it wrong... You cannot copy even from a newspaper without permission!! If the story is written by the said author and has published it, it is no douibt, the property of teh author, or will be that of teh publisher if the author has given the rights to the publisher or whoever. Let Shankar fight in the court and prove if he has not plagiarised....He has however made a wonderful movie....

this guy who has complained should be hanged as he has copied it from Sujatha's Novel more than 20 years ago... Also there's no authenticity to his claims...

Now all tom,dick and harry would start claiming this movie is theirs as it has become the biggest blockbuster in Indian Movies History... ignore such frauds... remember before the movie released all our kannadiga brethrens claimed it to be a copy of Hollywood a Upendra starrer... now they are not be seen or heard anywhere once the Product output and the storylines were totally different... its like claiming a Love story as theirs as it is... when all Love stories has the same theme and only modulated to different set-up or as a different genre...

I have written a similar story when I was 1 year old. All the others have copied from me. I demand that Rajnikanth & others give me my share. ;)
