I am from Mumbai..and I know Shankar very well. His talent is unmatched. His product is always unique in many ways. I dont know about Biharies but surely there shouldnt be fight and comparisan between Bolliwood and tolliwood. Common guyes its just one country. Talent deserve respect.

If Shankar is known only in South India. Then, same goes with Bollywood directors like Karan Johar, Yash etc. These directors are known only in North India.
I am not a tamilian, belive me, he is one of the most talented directors in India. Do you remember Nayak (anilkapoor starrer). It was written and direced by him. His movies are always a hit. Not just hit, bumper hits. By the way the guy standing in the middle is shankar. wait for his movie robo.

im a proud south indian, but i dont understand why when people say something good about south india they never forget to make bad comments abt bollywood or north india, the same applies to north indians also...guys grow up and behave like educated people

all south indians dont behave like this.. only Tamils do this.. And as for north indians, majority of them dont care unless they are racists (and contrary to being racists, majority of north indians are casteists)

but yeah... whether one is from north india or south india, we cant help but accept the fact that Shankar is a talented director, and a Patriot (at least his 'Indian' gives that impression) who looks beyond his Tamil roots.. Proud of you, you are one of the better movie-maker around

We can understand your frustrations. I pity the Hindi movie fans, you guys do not have any talented film technicians. At the best you can copy the story from south Indian films. Bollywood is run by the underworld Goons and so is its quality.
I can only quote a Tamil proverb for your situation. "A Dog Barking at a Mountain".
I wish to quote Amithab Bacchan's recent statement on Tamil movie Industry. "Tamil Movie industry is making big leaps and we must learn from you guys".
