I don't see why they should be saved. round them up and poison or shoot them. sick of these shameless animal activists. do they know how dogs chase and endanger ppl walking, riding bike home at night?

dogs need to be sterilized to save the rest. dogs may not be important in India, but they are living beings..so they should be considered.sure the people are poor, buy the animals should be taken care of also. down with you reply sandhya

I totally agree with you Sandhya. No one even has the right to get rid of animals. They belong to this world just like you and I. Humans being the most powerful creature on this planet has taken undue advantage of the same and destroyed this planet. Let there be ecological balance. They too deserve a life. I am very proud that celebrities are coming forward to handle social causes. Good job PeTA!
Dogs,even if it is stray, are revered in Indian streets,u know why??? It is becoz they ACT like night policeman on DUTY!!! Indian police & watchmen used to sleep in the night so who will safeguard against thieves???-DOGS...Hence the menace is growing over the years...

PETA folks are going bonkers. Stray dogs don't strive but thrive in India. They are the most robust of the lot I have personally come across in Delhi. It's the pets, who are kept cooped up in small kennels, well fed but sex deprived, I feel sad for. Nature created dogs to roam free, and not to be leashed by their superior counterparts called Humans.

There is a valid reason. There is huge money involved in the Sterilization of strays. There has to be an independent audit of how many strays were sterilised and how much money was actually spent.
