It was not soo bad
by Sheetal Dave on Jun 24, 2010 07:40 PM

Though the movie didn't work and people say there is no story line but there are movie with no story line and got filmfare at times, the thing is Hritik was looking very good and acted very well...we want to see him doing different roles and when he attempt it we discourage him. Its not fare at the filmmaker part that you compare each of his movie with his success chart. We all know that we love Rakesh Roshon and Hritik Roshon comobo., and no matter what Hritik i will always be your fan.

Kites & 3 Idiots
by Michael on May 31, 2010 07:43 PM

The satellite rights of Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots, which released in December, have been picked up by Sony for a whopping Rs 35 crore for 50 airings over five years.

And the rights to air last week's release Kites have been sold to Colors for a rumoured price of Rs 20 crore. Buzz is that these rights were sold even before the film's release.

Why compare to 3 Idiots
by Gayatri Ajiith on May 26, 2010 03:36 PM

Where is the story in Kites? Just 2 good looking people flaunting themselves - that's it!

I mean, just think about it - what is the motivation for Hrithik to become a saint (justly pointed out by the author)?
The 'miss-goody-two-shoes' Babara Mori never thought about Kangana even once before eloping?

Where is the love in this "love story" - just to selfish, cheaters running around! I wonder what was going on in Rakesh's & Anurag's mind when they made this film!

GO FOR IT, A MUST WATCH MOVIE
by Ritu Chawala on May 25, 2010 02:22 AM  | Hide replies

Guys, I am in US and watched the evening show of KITES. Not only Indians but plenty of AMERICANS too were visibly excited and happy about movie. While having coffee outside theatre 2 couples joined me and my husband and said your BOLLYWOOD actor is better than any of HOLLYWOOD one. They liked movie very much and Hritik and Barbara too.

It's very good movie, don't beleive below comments, movie is really pulling very good crowd here and same reports I got from other part of US through my friends as well.

GO FOR THIS MOVIE, MISSING IT WILL BE FOOLISHNESS. IT'S 100 TIMES BETTER THAN MNIK.

kites-old hollywood movie meets bollywood.
by Devin Aaron on May 24, 2010 08:37 PM

Kites is so similar to kaho na pyaar, the diffrnce in location, girls, love story, circumstance. Othrwise, its a boring movie and only "mindblowing" thing abt the movie is its ending.

If ur a hrithik fan u make an excuse to go watch his movie jst b.c its been a long time. Cut the sentimental for ur hero crap nd honestly the movie is been ther done that. You don't spend a year or 2 to make movies tht ar not made anymore for a reason.

Why can't they research a little, little better?
by John on May 24, 2010 06:19 PM  | Hide replies

MNIK and now Kites. Multi-million dollar budgets, stylish clothes, great songs and unrealistic storylines.
Anyone who has lived in the US for even 1 month can spot the huge crater like errors.
Whether it is going from Frisco to DC via Georgia in MNIK?! Or killing people in full view of the cops, as Tony does in Kites...it just doesn't happen in the US.
I'm sorry, I just can't buy the idea that these directors and scriptwriters can't bother to research something which every person in the US knows.
Just 2 simple errorswill explain:
1) When J and Mori are in a car and a cop asks them to pull over, they SPEED UP. And they haven't done anything yet. Nobody I know in the US (unless he has committed a murder) will not obey a patrol car on your tail.
2) J pulls the Green card scam by asking each woman for 1000 USD. 1000 USD? For a Green Card? Do the film writers know how coveted the GC is? And how many illegal immigrants in US would kill to get it? And its available for 1000 USD? Which anyone can earn working illegaly in the US for 15 days?
All I can say, is research, research and research. Thank you

ur right, u should know most of the film makers in bollywood are farmers, uneducated fellas, so they have limited knowledge, even if u happen to be there when conciving the idea/screenplay, they will ignore ur suggestion. so we r at the mercy of farmers
