Yeah, rediff messed that up. I still haven't seen the movie, and going by word-of-mouth I have received, apparently I didn't miss much either.

yeah! thats true... and that was not cos of Aamir. The story was good and executed well.. Dont credt that movie to Aamir..!!
But if u want to lift him up on your shoulder, then do it for TZP...!

Even that story did not belong to Amir. It is a based more on life experience of Amol Gupte , for whom it was a dream project, However later on he was kicked out by so called friend Amir(same what they have done to Chetan).

DDLJ still running after 13 years in cinema...most of u are so jealous that DDLJ broke Sholay's record for longest running movie...
anyway, i was not cynical...just trying to understand how he was so sure every indian watched 3idiots twice.

DDLJ doesn't not have any subplot, sholay has quite a few definite subplots. All the charaters of sholay are done so beautifully....DDLG only a few characters have been thought out.
The screenplay, dialogues, music, everything about it is just mindblowing.
the fact will remain afact, and if you think DDLJ is bigger than SHOLAY then there is no use talking to you. It is just like comparing Kumar sanu to Kishore Kumar.

DDLJ was run just for the sake of it... If I had a movie theatre on my own and have money, I will run a movie for creating records... point is after 13 years, do we have any takers for that movie?? May be the guy in the projector room would run it and leave it...

Who says? Is it encypted in a stone somewhere..cmon no one really cares for your own subjective opinions...many people of current generation are not even aware a movie like Sholay existed...while u ask all the upcoming actors and actresses they will call DDLJ among their fav. movies and they loved SRK in that...Amitabh in Sholay had a minor role only...people of the older generation remember Sholay for Sanjeev Kumar, Dharam, Amjad, Asrani and Hema more than they remember it for Amitabh...
and don't give me the c*ck story abt inflation...its all too old and boring theory now.
fact is DDLJ has had more effect on viewers in India than Sholay esp. SRK's presence and acting in that which still inspires young heroes.

When the producer/director of DDLJ has agreed that SHolay is the best hindi film ever, when Satyajit Ray has given his thumbs up to the film, who are you to comment against it.

Forest, u are living in a fools paradise. Sholay is streets ahead and remains to date as the greatest ever Indian movie. Its aura and magic still remains and will be so for many more generations.
DDLJ is a pale shadow of it, it is like comparing a cycle with a luxury car. Which is better?

priya..u call hrithik an actor...most of his expressions are wooden expressions..have u ever seen hrithik in a dramatic role? has he ever played an understated character? he is just a media created hype nothing else...have u watched MNIK..SRK's performance in the role of an autistic person is commendable...what was aamir's character in 3 idiots? did it require effort to do some stupid comedy? i heard that even sharman joshi and madhavan eclipsed aamir in 3i....do u call those stupid stunts in ghajini(a copied movie from tamil) as acting? it compares nothing with great acting in swades and chak de...for many years people like u have been hiding under the umbrella of "great acting" for aamir because he has no star appeal at all and in comparison to huge persona of SRK across the world aamir is a no show...but tell me what were the great performances of aamir in last 10 years? do u call RDB or fanaa as great acting? then u don't know the meaning of acting. Fact is SRK both as an actor entertainer and superstar far eclipses Aamir Khan who is a nobody actually. only fools in blogs vouch for aamir but his standing outside in the real world as a movie star in nothing i repeat nothing.

dear md shahelal i think dont have a sense to recognize a star. do u think SRK is a star. he doesn't to act only. media has raised him too high. Star is Amitabh Aamirk Hritik who does real acting. SRK is also a media star there is nothing in him that we can call a star. And SRK days r gone now.
Movies are supposed to be mirror. reflect exactly the way we live. that way we get insight into the way we live and also keep our mind stable. bollywood has been taking our mind in fantasy. that way even in real life people live in fantasy. they dont care if real life is full chaose every where. Thats why bollywood should learn something from hollywood. they always make simple, plain reality of our daily life. that keep your mind in present. overdrama and over acting shuld be baned completely. just simple, plain reality of daily life. Like Ranbir kapoor in 'wake up sit' thats most ideal film i have seen..
