indian press is going gaga about her.. the fact is that danny boyle can make anything look good on the screen..just watch 28 days later.. press says this girtl is beautiful.. the fact is that actors get unnecessary importance.most of the times..
In India,to be considered good looking,a lady has to be white-skinned & generally more Westernised in appearence.(Such as Aishwariya Rai with her fair skin & light eyes). From the Western perspective, they already have the light eyed, fair skin women. So Freida Pinto with her typical Indian colouring stands out...simply bcos she's different & represents another type of 'exotic good looks'.I live abroad with my family & I remember on my last trip to India, there were so many people walking around with blonde dyed hair.It did not suit most of us.When someone had suggested that I try the look myself (I will be considered very fair by Indian standards) I refused.Simply b'cos I live in England, where u have the real, blue eyed, golden hair women & I will look like a cheap copy of the real thing.

The overwhelming majority of NRIs in the west, whether dyed or not, look like 'a cheap copy of the real thing', dont they ?
To be fair enough, a good number of resident Indians too try their best to ape the westerners down to the last conceivable detail.
Both NRIs and desi Indians however - if they care to be discerning enough - will find to their mortification that the westerners in general take no notice of Indians (unless they absolutely have to), irrespective of whether the latter attempt to ape them or not !!

I think westerners/ Indians....everyone notices you- if you are a decent looking girl(Indian or not..blue black..green ..orange-whatever is your eye/hair color)...... and they dont care whether its a "copied" or "original" or whatever look-as long as you look good and can carry it off !

Of course,a good looking woman attracts attention no matter what her hair colour. The point I'm trying to make is that the dyed blonde hair does not look good on MOST of us.Or rather this obsession that we continue to have with the 'chocolate box' prettyness.(Such as the fair skin, light eyed Western appearance).Yes,Aishwariya Rai is beautifull, but why can't we accept & appreciate our own typical Indian looks (like Freida) too?
Bollywood is not the representation of Indian film industry. It's the bunch of a few family run businesses. Freida will never be accepted in Bollywood. Its naive for anyone to go after bollywood.

What about Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan ? They did not belong to any "royal" family.
Same holds for Akshay Kumar, Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna, Mithun Chakraborty etc.

amitabh got a break because of the letter of recomendation from the then primeminister Indira gandhi. The fact is It is very difficult for someone not from the family to make a mark. They force the person on you till you like him. like abhshek, like salman, like ranbirkapoor, like the present day SRk etc etc.

I do not agree to it, in that case all star-producer-director sons/daughters who entered bolloywood should have made it big. Look at Kumar Gaurav, Dev Anand's son ( I do not even remember his name :P), Jackkie Bhangnani,Armaan Kohli, Faisal Khan, Rinkie Khanna and many many more who vanished with any trace. True, that they have an easy entry, but if they fail to prove themselves, the industry shows them the door very quickly.

Anand, movie industry is not your regular work where one can become a big star with recomendations, bribe, power, money. The fate of super stars is done by public in a dark theatre every friday. Otherwise, tusshar kappoor, sons of shashi kapoors, abhishek and so mnay new introductions every week that we do not even remember would have been stars. AMitbah and other are stars becuase people voted for them every friday.

freida does not have a typical bollywood face of large eyes, thin nose and full face. She can never be a main lead.

Hello RNA, what humiliating value did you find in my post. I was just commenting about the prevailing media situation. Another fact is, she is a B grade actress.
Given a chance even your father will date her. She is only a dating material and not an acting material.

On ur own, u have concluded that she is a third grade actress...Why so? is she acting in any blue film?
What have u seen of her that makes u judge her so fast?

Moron RNA, Do you know the meaning of grade? You pervert. Even in cricket there are grade A, B,C players.
Grade A actors are like Kamalhassan, Dustin, Sridevi, Meryl etc With just one movie no one can reach grade A. So, practically pinto is still a B/C grade actress.
