Anu Malik is very difficult to watch
by Amartya on May 18, 2010 04:49 PM  | Hide replies

It is very difficult to watch Anu Malik in Indian Idol. He talks a lot and always praises himself as if he has descended from heaven. He never shows maturity in his comments.

The show itself is a farce because it has judges who themselves have no expertise in the field of music. It should have been judged by a renowned musician who have indepth knowledge about nuances of music.

But v have anu malik, Sunidhi Chauhan who is more interested in her attire and make up than the contestants performance and a third guy who is just an add on.

So no charm left in watching Indian Idol.

Amartya, you are absolutely right. Anu Malik is no singer himself. The reason is that he never, never received music training at the feet of any ustad/guru. Yet, he is the most abusive and verbose in his comments. Indian Idol is also degenerating into cheap stunts like asking the contestants to dance, to enact a scene in a movie, to make required faces. This shows the bankruptcy of Anu Malik and his other bogus companions. Does he or Salim understand the depth of the talent of Swaroop Khan, or that old Pakistani boy Amanat Ali? These are all sham, counterfeits and we are tolerating them and allowing them to shatter whatever good music we still have in India. Can Anu Malik ever make music like Madan Mohan, OP Nayyar etc> Anu Malik is an impostor in music.

copy Hollywood story music style
by abhishek kumar on May 18, 2010 08:42 AM

Hollywood produces 90% of original stuff- then rest of the world copies the same- produce the same in different countries and languages- India is one of them- nothing new- the only difference is, now they accept that a movie is copy from some Hollywood movie or we found out about a song being copied- in past, they all copied everything and noone knew and people still think- "in old days we used to have original music" - original music- my Ass!!

Give me a break....

One cannot survive in this industry without talent and Anu has done that for the last 30 years. I'll be the first one to say that some of his songs are lifted BUT he has composed for nearly 200 films, so a handful of his songs are lifted so big deal. It doesn't take away from the rest of his work. His career has been a struggle and to feed your family sometimes you will compromise or even if you have reached the top the fear is there that you might go back to the struggling days.
Its become the fashion to lambast Anu Malik. I bet many of those persons have loved many of his hit songs. The most versatile music director in the industry.
The same website also mentions that composers like Salil Chowdhary, RD Burman etc have lifted songs. Are they any less composer for that.
Give me a break... !!

Most versatile music composer!! You must be joking.
As regards his struggle, there is no victory without a struggle. So Iam sure other music composer/singers/musicians have gone through struggle but they dont have a "poor me" attitude.

what a joker!
by Naarayan on May 14, 2010 06:55 PM

This guy has never composed any original music in his life..the attitude he shows on the show is unbearable.." I would take a harmonium and go door-to-door to meet producers and directors, play the instrument and ask them to help me and give me work." begging alone does not give you chances.. you need to be talented and be original which you have never been through out your whatever 30 years you claim you have been in the industry..
