The first first quarter has come to an end and only My Name Is Khan emerged a hit. The film managed hit theatrical business in India while Overseas it smashed all records in most markets expect North America and Australia.
The second biggest success of the quarter was Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? The film started slow but picked up from its second day and has had a healthy four week run till date. Atithi Tum Kab Jaoge? will manage lifetime nett collections of 29 crore with a distributor share of 14 crore.
The other successes were Ishqiya and Love Sex Aur Dhoka. Ishqiya grossed around 22 crore nett and had a share of 10.50 crore. Love Sex Aur Dokha is also a success thanks to its very low production costs of only 2 crore. The film managed a distributor share of 3.25 crore in week one and is likely to add another 0.75-1 crore as collections fell heavily in week two.
Veer managed to score in circuits dominated by single screens like Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan but business in major circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP and East Punjab was dull.
MY NAME IS KHAN [In its seventh weekend, the film has collected £ 3,812 on 12 screens, with the per screen average working out to £ 318. Total: £ 26,02,781 [approx. Rs. 17.64 crores].

My Name Is Khan has become the biggest Hindi film in the Overseas markets. It also must be noted that the film has had around 75 more prints in circulation than any other film till date. This figure will be around 200 more prints when it releases in Germany, Poland and Turkey in May. The business from various regions is as follows.

My Name Is Khan has crossed the $15.50 million figure of Three idiots to become the highest grosser overseas but Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is still regarded as the biggest hit Overseas as that film grossed a huge $8 million in 2001 and the market then was half of what it is now. My Name Is Khan may finish at around $17.5 million after its 100 print plus release in Europe in May.

Mnik, was complete waste of time & money, I admit that watched in theater, but New York was 100 times better than this Mnik crap. K-gay only minting money for the huge NRI fan following for His gay buddy SRK.

who says MNIK is ahit, sorry folks MNIK is asuper flop movie, since the budget was more than 125 crores & u expect us to believ that film is ahit, in what sense The guy who has given stupid collection review just think before he says .. no body in UK US liked that movie.. Even it didnt recoevered its money.. Sorry, sharukh gay khan, stop babbling & dont use ur chamchas to make us believe that ur flop movie is a hit..
This Vinay Kumar looks like SRK's paid PR agent. He is visiting all articles and even if there is a slightest negative comment, he is answering it spiritedly. Cool it buddy! MNIK was crap and a big flop. Fox didn't even recover it's money. Why do you have a problem in accepting that? By saying it was a great film, you are only fooling yourself.

MNIK was world-class truly global film after Black. Oscar-worthy surely.

my name is khan was a good attempt but overall it was an average movie. the media hype gave the film some business otherwise it would have been an average film.

no the movie was the best india has to offer. Where do you live in India that is prob. why you though it was average or your an AAmir Khan fan. The movie got better ratings then 3 idiot from all critics.
