"Nayakan" is anattempt at creating a hard hitting story of vengeance,in a typical Quentin Tarantino fashion, sadly that's all that it is, a good attempt by a group of youngsters...Indrajit's performance is very patchy, Dhanya Mary Varghese should seek a new vocation..In the end 'Nayakan' is a very disappointing watch, with some very captivating shots and sequences, but a real drag, in spite of QT style story telling, better editing might have helped. A movie which had promise, but to deliver, could have been much better..Imitation is the best form of flattery, but it can only be an imitation !
at least i'm impressed with the review, i'm sure to watch it this week, Beware dont watch Thanthonni,, it's good for nothing movie,, I'm yet to get rid of the frustration
i watched the movie yesterday... the movie was very very boring.. the movie lacks soul.. the dons looked very funny.. most part of the movie was not digestible.. i was not able to concentrate much because people around me were howling real big wolfs...but i should appreciate the director for his out of box thinking... (seriously) an innocent kathakalli artist changing into a don due to unexpected situations... well that is new in malayalam movies... poor action sequence except for the last action.... sidique played his role well.. though his character was not clear... coming to the bottom line i would suggest you not to watch the movie.. indragit looked good in the movie.. it seems he is doing some workout.. well he acts better and is not stupid like his younger brother...

The movie is not that boring ...but its a movie with different technical side nd different way of narrating the story.....i should compliment the debut director Mr Lijo for making this kinda different touch...

If I have to pick up one thing from what I felt after I watched Nayakan it would be "Where was this Lijo Jose Pellissery guy all the while. Man, you come out form nowhere and give us a treat past compare. Before, it was only with Big B that I felt what I felt after Nayakan. Mr.Paresh has not gone much into reviewing the details of the film as such, it seems, but then, there are quite a few moments in the film that'll live with you. Indrajith making Kathakali facial expression of anger (correct me if I am wrong) using his facial muscles while embarking for a mission, Siddique showing his dark, evil side much like Lucifer or Satan himself, that IPS guy assisting Lalu Alex, The Goonda Inspector; most of the actors have been made to bring out their best by the director. There will be certainly more than a few opinions for and against this type of filmmaking but personally this is a welcome change. Amal Neerad, Aashiq Abu, and now Lijo. Every film need not be a full-length feature film with a MT-Lohithadas style of complete screenplay. Visuals and technical brilliance can give a film a mind of its own. The traditional Onasadya is complete vegetarian. Yet, in places like Kannur, they add non-veg too. At times, that's also cool man!

How can you rate Amal neerad as one among the best directors of Malayalam Cinema. His debut movie was 100% copied from an English Movie four brothers and his second movie is a crap. So don't give Amal undesreving applause. He is good for nothing guy. About the film Nayakan, it's totally different but you can see traces of Hollywood influence( Godfather series) in it.
