there are many great directors in India like Anurag Kashyap, Rajkumar Hirani, Dibakar banerjee, maniratnam who simply do not make boring pictures like Rituparno Ghosh....

kamala Hasan, maniratnam, Sekhar Kapoor, Mira Nair won more awards than Rituparno.....Other mainstream directors did not receive because they do not participate in unknown film festivals the way Rituparno does......
I dont have to know about Rituparno....I know about his films....Those are pathetically boring.....Nobody watches them except lazy bengalis......His english movie "The last Lear" was superflop.....
And you claimed him "the best in India".....
A movie is to entertain you, not to make you sleep......Half of the hall was sleeping while his film "Osukh" was premiered in Kolkata.....

That is the problem.....People from no other state proclaim that they have "all the bests" in India...This kind of superiority complex is actually a veneer of inferiority complex......
You dont have the inner strength and you are trying to gain strength by putting others down.....
Weak people do that...and commies definitely do that.....When idustrial data is down, they put it as "development", when "crime against women" increase, they put it as "woman emancipation"...In a Bandh they term "exercise of human rights" etc. etc. When people of East Germany were not having ration, Commies were celebrating,"40 glorious years of development of peoples' Govt."
Birju is a Commie sympathizer....I know this due to his debates in favor of Commies over the times.....
So, I reminded him, from which mindset he is talking these things....

How much you know about Rituporno, and his films or accolades won by him in form of awards and otherwise? And yes Bengal has a lot of things to boast about, you like it or not! I am well travelled and socialize with people from every corner of the world....
"Boasting somebody's culture" is one thing....and claiming "we are best in everything" are different......Nobody but the frogs in the well claim that they are the best.....
A diamond dont have to tell that it is precious....If something has to claim about its superiority, that claim must be false......As superiority stands out without any claim....Satyajit Ray never had to claim,"I am the best director of India"....

there may be a million fools like you who are men but of no quality - but this man is a genious, dont talk rubbish abt him.
These kinds of people become so because of abuse in childhood or repression of desires in childhood..look at him/her..he/she is a walking example of wierd ways humans can go, if development is not normal..
