oscar far far far better and honest than filmfare
by kannan venugopal on Mar 09, 2010 07:00 PM  | Hide replies

most of us know oscars are far far far better and honest compared to INDIAN awards like filmfare, apsara, star, zeeblah blah etc etc where our actors act better on stage than on films lol.... oscar are given to mostly deserving films even if they are not hit films like billion dollar baby, no country for old men etc... in filmfare only hit films even if they are worst will get awards. bollywood awards are worthless all know but they act in these ceremonies quiet shame even actors like amitabh do dont know why?

I think you are not at all aware of facts.

Firaaq was never a hit, for example, yet fetched many awards.

Hurt Locker way better than Avatar
by manjuri das on Mar 09, 2010 06:53 PM

For people like who don't understand movies, Hurt Locker will always seem to be distant second to Avatar. Apart from the OSCARS, the Hurt Locker won big at the BAFTAs too. Even if you can't digest that, kindly watch the movie over one more time. Its a fine character- study. The Academy has been guilty of ignoring movies like The Taxi Driver and The Thin Red Line in the past. This time they were bang on target. Suck on it, Raja Sen

Boring Oscars
by vijay M on Mar 09, 2010 06:53 PM

Tarantino definitely deserved the best director Oscar. But as always, Oscars are not meant for best films but for the Academy to further their political agenda. Hurt Locker is an average movie at best.
For once, I agree with Raja Sen. But the only difference being that I didnt bother to wake up and watch the show as I knew what would be the results beforehand.

Thin line between losing and winning
by Ashish Jha on Mar 09, 2010 06:49 PM

Most of the Oscar s winner are well deserved, when competition is tough there is always a thin line between winning and losing. Writer of article is depressed by the ceremony so he has all negative attitude about winner
