well said its a complete bachhan clan movie where only their power has been shown and rest crew member were sideline...how smartly mani ratnam just to promote aish and abhi he cut down govida's role....a good director make good flim not edit movie under power and influence...movie is flop in north its karma that speaks...
Even when RSagar's Ramayan was on air ther were occasions when Ram's character was disliked for his unjust approaches e.g. killing of Baali by hiding himself.Hence in fact it is estbd since long that neither Ram is paragon of virtues nor Raavan is an embodiment of the opposite. This is where Mani has failed because of his dishonesty to the theme.Afterall more than 50 yrs back itself in Thamizh we have had "Raavana Kaaviyam" eulogising Raavanan as protoganist and Raam as villain.The ever famous RS Manohar has made drama on Raavan as "Ilangaeswaran".Where Mani fails is he has not taken any side and has stood half-way across a well. Another place where he had badly faltered is in the star cast.Except Manoj Bajpai/Arjun Rampal fm crt gen and Ompuri/N'Shah on the prev gen no on else is capable of handling the character in hindi.I dunno when dirs like mani & Shankar will come out of their imbecility towards Ash Rai/M Koirala.
Mani again has betrayed,as in Yuva and AaythaEzhutthu his inability to apportion time for building up and conclusion of the subject.Char of Beera itself doesnt have a background for his goodness and reason for being shot by the SP.
Raavan is also proof for how besides Mani, AR Rahman too is an over rated Not widstding Oscar.His BGM invariably clashes with dialogues and masks expresion and is terribly jarry.
This subject would have got its true justice with the direction of Bala
I do not have word to say how bad it is. It's bad than worse. I kept waiting through out the movie to see something which will be worth coming to the hall, but Mani disappointed hugely. I lost faith on Mani. I wonder how on earth a person who made Roja can make Raavan. I made a promise to myself that I will not spend any money on Mani's movie in future.
need a reality check and need to take alternative career than writing review. General concept of boring, dull movies getting 4 stars doesn't always guarantee oscars - this movie has flaws everywhere written over and this doesn't include mindless acting from Abhishek or Ash

i think aseem chabra got heavy pay to write good review for bachhans.... by showing their power and sidelining other actors like govinda is nothing but eating ur own act..picture is a big flop...stop showing attitude and be a normal actors

U hanvn't seen Roja r Bombay, Guru, then u will say he is language fanatic,no matter where the story is frm, see how it was scripted,
Any of the direc is there dare to make film on terrorism an 90's,more is no is had idea make film on Hindu-muslim, r reserevation in india,he man handled all these & more in his film flawlessly. frm ur comment one thing i known is u have no age to understand this legend,
