That was indeed a great article..luckily Mohanlal was included in the list...eventhough most including National award jury members left him aside...After the release of Iruvar thr was an article in Hindu which mentioned abt lal's performance outstanding every other factor of that film.. great great performance was it..

If you feel bad about watching tamil movies, then its high time for you to move out of TN and settle somewhere....
Mohanlal and movies were made for each other. He portrays his characters with such depth that it’s mesmerizing to watch him. Kireedam was his finest performance as an Actor. Amazing range of emotions.
wow!a great list indeed. Mani Rathnam is indeed one of the better directors in kollywood history. If he could extract good performance from rajnikanth,he can definitely create wonders with ilayathalapathy vijay who is more talented than rajni in many departments(dance, comedy etc).vijay is in need of a director who has the ability to bring back his best acting skills akin to his vintage performances in movies like poove unakkaga, TMT, Ghilli etc. Hope the current generation superstar and mani rathnam work together and create magic.

Mani sir goes for actors who can deliver sensible-realistic acting like kamal, vikram, surya, madhavan, maneesha or who will be able to do that eg. Rajini, Shalini, Shahrukh etc. Dear sura, ur Vijay is not coming to any of these group.. Remember Mani is maker of classics not tipical dappa koothes (just singing, dancing, fighting, running behing villain or heroine that's it)Even Tamilians fed up with Vijay's repeating attempts - prooved by - big flops such as sura, Vettakkaran, Villu, Kuruvi etc.. he need to be sensible, realistic.. but no hopes.. (Charming and looks are not relevant in Tamil film field , everybody know) :-)

I think your title should say, Vijay a good star but a bad selector of movies......Vijay has rejected any movies that has a sensible plot to satisfy his fans, or what he thinks will satisfy his fans...but unfortunatly its repetative and he's paying the price..

Vijay has rejected Gautham Menons Khaka Khaka..which has been bagged by Surya and he made the movie a great success...If Vijay had cast in it...the movie might be a Flop of his life time. Cop dress doesnt fit for Vijay....Vijay will fit only on street Romeo dresses...After continuous flops, vijay thought of plunged into politics, but none of the National and Dravidan Parties accepted him. Its a retirement age for him and idle time to look after his Business Empire (No wonder he is one of the Real Estate Shark in Chennai)
Surprisingly Prakashraj was the last choice. The roles went to Nana Patekar (remuneration issue), Mithun Chakraborthy (Continuity issue), Sarathkumar (price issues), Sathyaraj (problem with the role), Aravindswamy (no idea why he was out, even a poem recital was recorded in his voice) and atlast Prakashraj, who had done a bit role in Maniratnam's Bombay as a police officer, stepped in.
