Bollywood of 60s & 70s was best. Today it has become a pathetic inferior attempt to copy hollywood. Be it their langauge, their songs, their themes, their stories and now their actors.

I would say from silent movies till 1965, after that blight started setting in and what we get to-day is waste of cellolide and as for music my tortoise can produce better musical notes when he squeaks.
PL. CHANGE THE NAME OF BOLLYWOOD TO " ANGREZWOOD OR BETTER HYBRID HOOD" BECAUSE EVEN THOUGH FILMS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE "HINDI" FILMS TEHIR NAMES ARE INCREASINGLY IN ENGLISH . THEIR HERO HEROINS SGIVE INTERVIEWS IN ENGLISH.. THEIR AWARD CEREMONIES ARE CONDUCTED IN ENGLISH... SHAME TO CALL HINDI OUR NATIONAL LANGUAGE

You are right. We Indian people's main problem is that we don't respect our National Language. Every body talk his state language. Celebrity also will act in Hindi movies and will get their name and fame from it , but they feel it shame to talk in Hindi. Quite strange.

Hello idiots, Hindi is not our national language. Hindi is just an official language like English.
FYI, Hindi is a regional language in UP. Better give respect to other regional languages as well.

Hello Hyderabadi Corpse, I think your education background is poor. Did you cross 5th standard? As per Indian constitution, Hindi is an official language like English and its not our national language.

loved the word hybrid hood! Most bollywood movies are frame to frame copies of hit hollywood movies. Why hindi stars speak only english?Only one movie is original Mughale Azam!
I don't understand the media attitude, they can go ga ga over a mindless film like OSO, but they will bring a film like Wanted or Housefull down. All are mindless films for that matter.....then why so biased, simply because OSO stars SRK? Shame on you media people. Simply, how much do you get from that guy to favor him? You call Akshay a slapstick-superstar...now what's that? He has the screen presence and charisma and that's why a bogus film like CCTC can embark a superb opening. Every start has his own fan following like SRK has fab fan following overseas and no one can match him, Akshay has his own fan following in India and it's huge, no less than Salman's or SRK's. So let people decide who's good and who's not and stop writing biased and articles and stop using stupid words.
Please note that I am not starting another Akshay vs SRK or Salman vs SRK war over here. I have no such intentions. I am just curious about media behavior.
Take a population of 1300 million out of which 700 million, mostly the daily earning populace, are in need of some entertainment at the end of the day. They're willing to blow some Rs.100 out of it. Some "moonshine" (one cannot afford regular whiskey/rum daily) to raise the spirits, head straight to the cinema halls blow another Rs.50/Rs.70 for titillating bollywood movies transporting him into wonderland (usual rich girl meets poor boy, blah blah) for 3 hours everything blissfully forgottenend of movie go home eat what is cooked and go to bed (his wife in stupor looking like the bollywood heroine. Result you know 1300 million by another 20 years will reach 2000 million. Quite apart, do some simple arithmetic 700 million into Rs.50 (minimum) per day (there are guys who get smitten by the heroine and go to see the movies daily) is 35,000 million and if the movie even runs for a week it is 2,45,000 million rupees i.e.. 2450 croores of rupees. No wonder even 3rd class pictures dished out to the public with masala plots, some songs (in scantily clad atmosphere) are hits in our country. What suckers these producers are making fool of the public. Jai Ho.
