Bollywood has copied from Hollywood, right from the beginning. Shammi Kapoor was India's Elvis Presley, and barely a percentage of Hindi movies are original, they typically have plots stolen from multiple Hollywood "inspirations". Throw in a beautiful song or two and add an additional romantic angle, one rape attempt scene and the hero coming in to rescue the damsel, and one bad mother in law or daughter in law, the movie is completely Indianized, and stands no chance of a copyright lawsuit. Very clever, our Bollywood producers.
As for rest of India? Tollywood,Collywood,Mollywood, they all ape the Bollywood.

Dude ... All bollywood movies are a remake of South Indian flicks. Wanted, Gajini, Garam Masala .. Name it and you have it ... Who wants to copy the most loss making industry ??? So, bollywood copies south Movies ... And you have a whole lotta remakes coming this year ...Validate before you make statements ...
Bollywood is known only for its high glamour quotient, expensive and grand settings, huge budgets, obscene sequences of song and dance, double entendre etc . What about the real aspects of movie making such as script, screenplay, casting, acting etc. Very few good movies have been made in Bollywood and far less in the recent past. It is like pop music doesnt really have any refinement. People who follow these movies really dont have a sense of art involved in movies. It is a really a industry of the "masses" not the classes. There are some good actors in Bollywood but movies are really a package more than just good acting. And probably why Bollywood serves this sh1t on a platter is because the audience have never seen anything better and demand anything good. Well deserved

yes..in 93-94 when i came to study here i was influenced by this guy.. i along with some of my friends are along with him ever since..i supported them since bjp was no force here and that i was anti congress anti left:)
