English, in fact, is the only "Indian" language that can be spoken and understood in any part of India. BTW, how come you don't have a problem with "Bollywood" but names in English troubles you?

They have a point - if the film represents their father, they have a right to see the movie and decide if it defames him or not (that right cannot be exclusive to the Gandhi family). Secondly I have heard from old timers as well that Haji Mastan was more of a smuggler and not an underworld don as is being portrayed; in fact he was not even a hoodlum - he did have his friends in Karim Lala and Mudaliar (who were his enemies earlier) who helped him, but all he indulged in was hardcore smuggling - gold, liquor, electronic etc. and hence depicting him again as a don is not right if his heirs feel it is degrading him.
An interesting story that my father says is that Mudaliar had a wish to be buried in Mumbai, but had to flee Mumbai due to Pawar who hounded him out. On his death, Mastan chartered an Indian Airlines flight to bring Mudaliar's body to Mumbai - such was their friendship.

I dont understand why we glorify criminals and worry about showing criminals (dons/smugglers/politicians all included) in good light.
I had the same issue with that movie Rajneeti - were we supposed to root for Team Ranbir over Team Manoj bajpai?? To me they were both equally terrible - murderers. It doesnt matter how loyal they are to their friends/family.

It is not glorification - it is more of banking on the common man's fascination for negativity which he cannot vent out, and which he enjoys through seeing others who could do so. I am scared of heights, and maybe that is why I enjoy seeing ppl who do stunts involving heights - maybe I am outliving my fear by seeing others do so fearlessly.
When ppl feel that they are oppressed by the system, but still do not have the guts to revolt, and suddenly they see ppl taking to guns (though for a wrong purpose) automatically the thought crosses that if I could do that and revolt against the system.
Incidentally after The Wednesday, there have been more hits on google to search for how to make a bomb, as many ppl wanted to copy the main character.
Dons like Mudaliar and Lala also had a very good rapport with their community members (not religious or linguistic - areawise) and this only added to their aura.
