Very Predictable!
by Umesh CG on Aug 05, 2010 09:25 AM

The movie is very predictable!. But has good dialogs. Direction is average. But newcomers performed well. Navin pauly as prakashan and Aju vargeese as Kuttu in particular. If Navin has dubbed himself, then he has a good future!.

Change my view
by Janarddan on Aug 03, 2010 01:11 AM  | Hide replies

I change my views, somewhat, after watching the movie. The movie is decent but lack of good direction shows glaringly. I wish Vineeth took this nice story of Malarvady to someone like Lal Jose or Ranjith Sankar (of "Passenger"). They would have made it rocking.

Also the senior actors Nedumudi Venu, Jagathy Sreekumar, Salim Kumar, Janarddanan and Sreenivasan gave a good performance as they were not bogged down by Vinneth's direction.

But youngsters and fresh faces who looked up to the director did not get it right many times.

Finally the good story saves Vineeth the blushes - film has succeeded.

Palicha, please write a decent review - your review does not talk about the faulty direction.

Need youngters
by SK on Jul 19, 2010 04:28 PM  | Hide replies

I am tired of seeing the wringled faces of Lal, mamooty, sreenivasan, mukesh et al.

Time for new generation to take over. But the million dollar question is: Will star kids like Vineeth and Prithviraj fill the shoes of the earlier talented generation? Only time will tell.

The golden age of mallu cinema was studded with extremely gifted writers, directors, actors and technicians. They came up on their own and not catapulted by their parents' connections.

it seems u go to movies only to look at faces whether "wrinGled" (next time pls check ur mallu spellings) or not....the entire existence of malayalam cinema is due to acting, which is the cornerstone of lal, mammooty's films. if u want "unwrinGled" faces go watch the dishoom dishoom hindi movies. made for a moron like u

Vineeth, not sure, Prithvi for sure. But the fact is we need 4-5 many more like them. There is a scope for atleast 5-6 lead actors, 5-10 writers & directors.

i have seen one movie of vineeth - cycle. even though the movie was good, his acting was waste. somehow i feel at times that he tries to enact his father. he doesn't deserve to be an actor. better do the direction and writing and of course singing. being the son of an extremely talented father doesn't mean that you try to be like him and be a joker in front of the viewers

malayalam is void of two types of actors - romantic heroes and action heroes. except that malayalam has everything and i feel its the best in india. and this empty space can be easily filled by prithviraj. he's good in both, looks young and charming. but all thru the calendar he cannot do movies. as rightly said by zeng, we need a few more like him. earlier romantic heroes like dileep cant remain in this role for long since he is getting old. kunchako was better in mummy and me compared to other movies. he has scope for improvement, so does the team from the movie Rithu and Apoorvaragam. jayasurya better keep doing comedy. wonder y narain doesn't come so often.

anyway we still need new comers who change the perception of mallu viewers, that having a moustache and a half mast lungi is the symbol of manliness and heroism.

I believe reverse is more likely

Vineeth has directed a movie on his own. Prithviraj fellow has sat on the shoulders of directors like Lal jose and reached this stage - not yet promising. His brother Indrajit however holds good potential.

Vineeth and Prithvi entered in the movies with the advantage of being star sons. I really doubt they have real talent. They have not proved yet.

Since Mohanlal Malayalam is yet to see a natural and born talented actor.
