These kind os soap operas will make our children and future generations very shallow and bumb.
There is a way to stop all of this. You are in control.
The solution is very simple.
SWITCH THE TV OFF.
Spend some time talking to wife and kids. Go to a park or go to your terrace and just spend some time with ur family as oppose to starting at the TV like zombies.
People who say they have no option are making excuses.
You have the power to stop this. It is about self discipline and control. It is about finding a mode of entertainment that is educational, informative, healthy and brings the family closer.
Please please stop wasting time, money and energy on Television.

This is the most useful suggestion anyone has posted in rediff for last so many years. Thank You & congrats for your vision.
Everybody knows the what Desperate Housewives is all about, and it does a good job of expose` on the American culture and lifestyle.
But is it neccessary to copy the same in our India too? we are already having overzealous moral brigade indulging in honour killings..
The serials have a massive following and influence on the middle class, hence i hope the above serial is well presented keeping in mind our society norms.

one is forced to.... Almost all Dish tv operators have these channels in their base package..its the cheapest option as well...
