One reason Indians don't have too many sportsmen is the vegatarian diet among many. Gavaskar, Vengsarkar, Tendulkar are all non-vegetarians.

Ever heard of Sushil Kumar and Virendra Singh,olympic medalists,both are vegetarian Jats from Haryana.And if non veg diet alone could create world class atheletes ,today bengalis would be the world champions in football.

Get ur facts right. Gavaskar has turned for vegetarianism for many years now.Also in absolute numbers India will be one of the top 5 countries with maximum non vegetarians.Still no Gold medals friend
