Steig Larsson's Triology
by keshavmurthy k on Jul 10, 2010 06:55 PM

The three books written by Larsson, may I suggest, should not be read as one would any detective novel. The reason: the author does not take the reader on a tour of various countries of the world, nor does he give you a one-dimensional approach to the story. Instead, he unravels at his own pace the socio-political situation of the contemporary Sweden, the strength of his protagonists, the gradual convergence to the climax bereft of the usual crescendo one associates with mysteries. The books are more than 600 pages long and never at any point appear to be dragging. Sheer pleasure of good reading can be obtained in these books. One sincerely hopes that the film adaptations do not dilute the pleasure of reading.
