The show that kicked off the trend, Kaun Banega Crorepati? averaged TV ratings (TVR) of 14.13 over its first 13 weeks, generated national hysteria and revived Amitabh Bachchan’s flagging career. Even KBC 2 managed a TVR of 11.14 for 13 weeks, according to TAM Peoplemeter System Media research.
TV marketers can only sigh when they recall those numbers. Shah Rukh Khan, who reportedly got Rs 25 crore for shooting 52 episodes of KBC 3, could only deliver an average TVR of 6.8 for the first 13 weeks of KBC 3 in 2007. His asking rate has shot up — to a reported Rs 40 crore for 37 episodes of Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain? But Paanchvi Paas had an average TVR of just 2.5 for the period between April 15 and June 14, according to TAM

These oldies should be given break now and new talent should be given chance to host the programs.

Even if in entertainment industry young guys are not able to entertain us as much as likes of AB and Rajnikanth, that doesn;t show that we have no young entertainers, but that shows that we have these jewels who are still liked by most of people and thats why they are not ready to step down. Salute to these guys. Now its your turn to reply.. You want to abuse me or Mr. Bachchan.. Do that I really enjoy that. go on.. :)
Although most of the Indian TV media is praising Shahrukh as a new host of Kaun Banega Crorepati (of Star Plus) the truth is that the actor has flopped miserably. At his first show on 23rd January, 2007 most of the people found him very awkward and ordinary.
People were also found disgusted with most of the TV media calling Shahrukh as King Khan and declaring his first appearance as 'very successful'. Audience really missed Big B - Amitabh Bachchan - saying 'Shahrukh is no match for magnetic Big B'.
One Rakesh Chaudharay of Rohini said frustratingly that after listening to false media reports he wanted to hit the TV screen of his television. He asked surprisingly if the media could afford to lose the faith of the people by such false publicity. He doubted the reporting might have been funded.
Most of the time Shahrukh tried to copy great Amitabh Bachchan in the show but looked like a child. He was unable to bring his own unique style. The guy is really hard-working and he practised a lot before actually starting for the show. But his screen presence and acting was unable to cop with the expectations the media had already generated.
Comparing Amitabh's acting to Shahrukh is certainly ridiculous. It is universally accepted that Shahrukh is no match for Amitabh in acting. Therefore, trying to pit one against another and proving that Shahrukh was somewhat better than Amitabh is definitely harmful for the image of the TV media.

MR. BOMBER U APPEARS TO HAVE COME FROM AFGANISTAN. PLS GO TO PAKISTAN U ARE MOST NEEDED THERE. MR. AMITABH IS AMITABH AND NO MATCHING LIKE HIM IN THE UNIVERSE. SRK IS CHILD BEFORE HIM. HE CAN NOT EVEN SPEAK CLEARLY.
Great to have you back Mr. Bachchan!!! There is something finally interesting to look forward on the small screen....but please do continue with movies at the earliest, cant wait for your next one! Eagerly awaiting many more years of entertainment from the one & only superstar of Indian cinema...glad to be born in the era where I could watch him create the magic he has......

Dare question the credentials of those who can question an Icon who has 3 National award nominations,13 Filmware Award Wins, and the record for the Most Nominations for BEst Actor till Date...and the very fact tht at 67 yrs of age he still collects the Best Actor award standing on the same podium as the men in their Prime...speaks volumes fot the Man himself..not to mention of the Hit songs he gave us and his one and only Baritone...beat tht.. :-) ...Chk up Wikipedia or IMDB to enlighten urselves..he was considered a ONE-MAN industry at one point of time..even Aamir ,SRK,Salman,Hrithik consider him the greatest.. :-)

ayoyo-yo!!! u guys are couldn't control u r excitement with mr. bachchan's statement of "no films". so that "whom-so-ever your loyalties lie with" does not have tough competition. why? becoz they cannot put up a tough fight?
note: by no films right now, mr. bachchan means - he hasnt committed anything to future projects. and needless to say, scripts are still written with the Big B in mind.
