in the name of experimentation, ARR screwed up big time. in the name expanding music, he is giving western music into indian films..who needs that? we can as well hear western music for that. ARR ji, stick to Indian format when you are composing for an Indian especially for a Tamil movie. Don't try your international stuff locally. this is going to be a flop show expect may be hosana

It is stupid to say this is all western music. Dont u see an amazing blend of Indian Classical and western music? Learn to appreciate how he has used Indian classical ragas brilliantly in this album.. Aaromaley is a masterpiece with raaga Bageshree beautifully blended into the blues... Omana penney is again a brilliant blend of Indian and western music... He's taking our music beyond the shores man... Grow up!! Dont be a frog in the well.. or if u still want to be contented with the nakkumukkaas of the world, who can stop you!

there r people like u think music has borders. but rahman crossed this borders and he blend them together. one thing we can say. Better not to try always with new experimentation in all albums.
i found this music very strange..not heard like this before in India music.aromale can sound good to those who have not heard true rock music..atleast better than that crap called rock on
ARR is at his experimental best in this album, and the reviewer claims there's little space for experimentation and that it is in his usual template. This one statement shows what a worthless review this is.. do we even need to consider the other points suggested by her in this inane review?
Hosanna inspired from Enya's song?!? Even if Enya will laugh at this comment, for there's nothing similar...
Hope rediff finds some reviewers with at least a bit of musical sense soon, or it will lose its credibility!

Nonsense... There are so many good musical movies that flop due to the movie's weaknesses. ARR has had it with films like Taj Mahal, Sakkarakatti, ATM, etc. Gautham's films do well because of his screenplay and direction, not because of the music. He also picturies the music superbly.
Pavithra - I like your reviews. You write them with sincerity. However this time, I cant agree with your rating number. You say "Vintage Rahman" and yet rate it 3/5. It makes it sound like you are a Rahman fan who wants the review to sound positive but your rating actually showcases your true feeling of the album. The album definitely deserves atleast 4/5 at a minimum.
This album is mesmerising. There is variety, there is freshness, there is the addiction to it (many songs are very addictive) and then there is experimentation which eventually works. For the Tamil audience, they have not been able to enjoy Rahman in recent times. This album is for those souls who enjoyed Rahman so much and pushed him towards national and international recognition (without Tamil audience, he wouldnt have crossed those big boundaries). All audience are great, but Tamil audience are special for Rahman! Thanks to him for giving us such a wonderful album.
Absolutley one of the best album Composed by AR.He can beat his music only by him.." suvasthi suvasthi sumugoortham sumangalibava manavaatti " s awesoem to the core. folks just sharpen ur ears and listen to aromaley or anbil idhayam aweosme to the core. Rahman rocks

Very true! "Aaromale" is an experiment that eventually rocks. I couldnt believe Rahman could compose a track like this, but in the end its just wow!
I agree that some songs grow too late among ARR tunes. I like Marudaani after listening two years from its release. Some like vennelave now after film went older, Some even like Thee thee tiyyani from Donga Donga now after it went older.I hence will not believe in these reviews rather go and buy the CD.
Also to bring to the notice of ARR fans, I hear lot of background music if serials nowadays which are nothing but ARR tunes.I think they are using them without copyrights. I expect some action against them.
