Media provoked Chetan Bhagat against the team. He was used by anti Aamir media to settle personal scores. Media could not digest that an Aamir Khan film could be so successful. Last year also, all the award committees sidelined the blockbuster Ghajini. Actually, the victory belongs to CB in a great measure whether he gets opening credit or not. Everytime 3 Idiots is discussed, FPS is also mentioned. What else does he want? He is associated with the blockbuster of the decade. And he is the father and mother of that movie.

Contrary to what you say, Media is firmly behind Aamir most of the time. Rather than simplifying the issue, we need to study why Indian filmmakers steal, borrow, and deny credit where it is due. There are hazar instances of Hollywood movies being copied verbatim and no credit given to the original ideators. This is sheer lack of artistic integrity and I'm sad to see even Aamir being culpable of this shameful custom.
Howmuchever he and his entourage may argue, the fact is indisputable that the original idea for this movie came from FPS by Chetan. Howmuchever they talk about differences the fact will firmly remain that all these are variations arise from the central anchor theme which was conceived and written by a hardworking author. Any artistic person of integrity will respect this fact and will never argue saying the whole idea is different. If that is so, why was Chetan Bhagat paid any money at all and why was a contract drawn up. What Aamir is not saying is that they were much more skilful in these aspects to get a writer to commit based on money and Chetan simply walked into the trap. But no intelligent person will be fooled by the bravado talk of Aamir and Gang. While I hold no cudgels for Chetan, I sincerely feel Aamir being a fellow Artist, should aspire for the highest levels of integrity. Bollywood has a lot to learn from Hollywood in this respect.
They have not claimed authorship for FPS. They have claimed authorship for 3 Idiots whose story is as different as chalk from cheese. 3 Idiots is built up on a central character Rancho, who is not the real Rancho. Thus the basic storyline is changed. Adaptation does not go for such a drastic change. There definitely will be some similarities, otherwise why they will give that rolling credit?

u wud find that chetan bhagat was paid money for his book. he signed a contract which stated that he wud be given rolling credit. he sud have objected to it at that point itself. i doubt he wud have signed widout consulting his lawyer.

The good movie comes Hit or not life time ??? 1 month, 2 months or max 3 in todays senario. A good book stay's there all the time. So Books are always the winner.
Then when ever a movie is made on a book or "inspired" by a book it never is as Good as the book!!! Winner Book
The authour can earn from the book and the movie rights also. But movie earns only from movie and all the way Winner BOOK

Book requires single good author and a Publication house
For a movie the producers , financers, Directors,writers ,actors , play back singer and many more are involved IF all them produce good result film is hit.
Books reaches to only few so called learned people Reach of movie is broad
No Need to compare one man act with a chorous each has its merrits and pitfalls
