To a lyricist, just give a line and he can pen a complete song and same is the case in writing a script, you just need an idea, and script writer can develop the whole story. This is a copy write violation and the writer should be fully compensated and paid for.
The behaviour of Chopra, Raju and Amir at the noida press conference is self sufficient proof of their crime committed by cheating the writer Chetan Bhagat. Rolling credit is given only for seeking inspiration from a work and not for substentially copying the work. This demand full royalty and credit as an author. Chetan is right that film is a virtual copy of his novel. I agree with him. Let the people decide whether it is copy of or merely inspired from, FPS PC Jain

(1) The suicide plot where RAJU(ALOK in 5PS) jumped from the roof and survived is similar to the book . (2) The stealing plot of the question paper from the Dean's room is similar to the book. Rancho(Hari in 5PS) managed to get the keys from his girlfriend before that(Dean's daughter). (3)Rancho went into Dean's house at night to see his girlfriend with the help of his friends. This is also similar. (4) The drunk Raju(alok in 5PS) attending the class is also similar. The screenplay writer has extended the last part thru the marriage of rancho and pia(which is not there in the book). Rancho is not real name of that character. It is someone else. It is also done for the sake of screenplay. The most Height of exaggeration of the movie:- Have you counted how many hours it took to arrive in Ladakh on a single day. The last plot in ladakh still have daylight. While they raju and Farhan went to shimla. From shimla they went to Manali. From Manali they went to Ladakh.Before this Farhan got down from the aeroplane. Went to raju's house . But at the end of the movie ladakh is still under daylight. They have all done it in a single day , mind it, bacause ramalingam(their second topper) has one day in hand to prove his excellence over rancho who is basically funshuk wangdoo. Another exaggeration, how can funshuk wangdoo became a scientist without any degree?? the degree belongs to ranchordass mind it.

The movie Hello Was from night at the call center and everyone would agree that every scene in the movie from the book was picked from the book. So what did you get , a boring movie that did not run 2 days in the theater. It is evident that the 3 idiots team took lots of anecdotes from 5 point some one but gave it a soul too , which made the public like the movie. Chetan knew where his credits were going to end up when he signed the contract and happily took the money he was offered. Only when the movie was such a big hit he realized he could get more publicity.

what's wrong friend.A simple acknowledgement is not difficult task.A person like chetan Bhaget should get aoppropriate respect.These film actors think them selves super man.They are arrogant.
I think u guys are not aware of full fact, chetan has got his share, and even bonus for film, but he want whole credit should get him, Since there is vast change in his actual script and movie, so script writer got credit which Bhagat is upset. There is no copy write violation; he has given his permission, for film

Wrong. He says at least they could have written adopted from -- They didnt because of obvious reasons.Moreover films are normally not based on novels entirely. And the great Amir Khan clearly said that he has not read the novel but it is different. This the biggest crap comment of all time
his hello is flop,and he is not saying a word. 3I is huge blockbuster. if you see the copy of contract, he agreed for rolling titles, which he got. why is he shouting over roof top now.?

He is upset because Abhijat Joshi is given credit for the story. If one goes by the logic of Aamir & Co then, it could have easily been claimed that Slumdog Millionaire was not based on Vikas Swarup's "Q & A" and Dev.D was not based on Devdas as both the movies were a lot different from the novels.
Devdas was not a drug addict but a drunkard and he was from bengal and not punjab.
The incidence only shows that bollywood is only good enough for plagiarism and make copied movies.
After Sanjay Gupta, Mahesh Bhatt and Yash Chopra, Vidhu Vinod Chopra can also be included in the list of producers/directors who make copied movies.

MOMO, You r right but ur opinion abt movie is not right. Chetna Bhagat is good writer but Amit, Rajakumar and Vidhu are best.

Isn't it surprising that the film crew team created the hype that this book is based on 5 point someone ? Now when you see the film by shelling 350 bucks 3.5 times the book value the film crews grins and tell who is chetan ?My god My god this is only 1-2% chetan!! Have u noticed that the film is a part cricket commentary style(hard to copy?) and some black and white scenes only to dim the copy effect from the book! Sometime the film is so stupid fast that one have to recollect the books and big fat jumps when? Ha ha . And the hero here is a first boy unlike thelast boy of chetans!! Damm it!!

The film also doesn't potrays properly how the hero and heroine romances and moves frequently it fails to potray the IIT life above all. After all it is some emperial college not IIT. chetan tried to potrayed the IIT students and not any college

Harry Potter books and movies are sometimes in different lines also but the movie maker dont try to put some own style but enhance the pottermania only
