Hi,
I just finished the movie in a theatre abt an hr back. Its simply great!! I have also read CB's actual book 5.smone.
Well according to me, the plot in the movie is completely new as against the book which is just a collection of events rather than a coherent series of events which usually makes a movie. So gr8 work Aamir and Raju. Dont worry about Chetan (may its just TRP/media footage or top-up 6 yr residual royalties).
What I feel is that if someone were to make a movie actually on 5.someone ditto it would be a throw away as a movie cannot be made without a solid and well-woven plot but a book can be written(Simply b'cos you dont see a movie in the same way as you read a book).
Yes there are movies made on novels( "Hunt for red october"- Tom Clancy or Ludlums- Bourne series) but you have to see that these are "well-woven" plots as against 5.someone which falters in that aspect.
Lastly, but somewhere deep inside I think that at least Chetan deserved a place in the name casting though may " Adapted from " or something similar and befitting.

finally i got some1 wid some sensible reply,the rest have been really preposterous....i agree wid ur point....and also Chetan shoud have got a little bit more credit...definitely not after d junior artists....
After reading FPS and seeing 3 idiots I think the title of the movie should have been superman and 2 idiots.Amir Khan has acted brilliantly and the movie was quite funny and enjoyable.But some questions raced through my mind. 1. Why the girlfriend has to belong to Amir Khan.Where as in FPS it should be Madhavan's.End result is Madhavan did not have any meat in his role and Amir Khan had all limelight.Anyway In Bollywood a film belong to the stars.
2. Why to prove the point that you should be chasing "excellence and not success" Amir Khan had to be a topper.As compared to a low ranker in the book.Probably it is due to the stereo typical mentality when topper speaks you got to listen.
3. Generally the Machine definition given by Amir Khan is the most accepted and simple definition given by professors of engineering college all the across.Why in the case Amir Khan had to come up with the definition and not the professor.Probably again the limelight.
4. Teaching us the bad effects of Rat Race.Are the bollywood stars not indulging it the most by discussing or talking about No. 1.In this movie you take the meat out of everyone's role and add it your character to stay in limelight and may talk about being No 1.
Finally I think 3 idiots is a hillarious movie but in terms of educational and moral values it is not leagues of Munna Bhai and TZP.
the basic fact that idiot CB sold the rights at very less money, now since the movie is making a lot money it is itching him. CB idiot of the first order, there should be another movie called 4 idiots

Aayez, you seem to be the biggest idiot of all.
Did CB at any point of time say anything about money????? He's only saying that he should've been acknowledged at the start of the credits which is the norm, not at the end of rolling credits as was done in this case.
Its a very genuine grievance. After it was him who had conceptualized the story for his book. Making any changes does not change the fact that the movie was based on his book.
The producers and director in this case have behaved without any grace as was rightly pointed out by Vir Sanghvi in his Sunday editorial on HT.
